Y/N P.O.V.:

Mr. Valdez left a week or so ago, maybe even a little longer. Since then I'd thought about what he'd said, about rejoining the Protocol, or at least helping what was left of it.

He said her specifically, of course. Not because she was his daughter, but because her control was the worst for the amount of power she had. If anything she was the most dangerous to be out on her own, so his reasoning made sense.

Of course it had to be her, it wouldn't be a story if it wasn't, and the author would run out of ideas. (This is a joke, not a plot hole, don't go crazy)

I sat out on the wooden patio of the house I'd been building. I was tired of never doing anything, because I knew exactly what to do. I knew I would do what he said the moment he asked, yet here I am, still thinking about a question I'd already answered.

I brought out a phone, which Mr. Valdez had given to me. He told me that he would give his number, and if I wanted to do something, to give him a call.

I flipped the phone open, revealing the contacts list, only his was in it. I hit 'select', and then 'dial', and it called him.

"Manila, The Philippines. You already have a place to stay close to hers. Me and my wife are no longer there, and we are living in a safe house until it is safe again. Don't trust anyone, destroy the phone"

The line hung up. Of course that's where she would go, I should've known. But I'm sure that Omega or Kingdom would know that too if  they knew anything at all.

I closed the phone, and broke it. I got up and grabbed a piece of cloth, before tying it around my bad eye.

I had a mission now, but my mind was conflicted. A mission was something that I needed to do, but this was a choice, I was choosing to do this, and I would treat it like that, not a mission.

I grabbed my katana, which had been leaning on a wall, and took it out. I slashed the sword through the air delicately, before a portal opened before me. I sheathed it back, and walked into the portal, not spending an extra second thinking about it, I'd made my choice, and now I'll stick to it.

I walked through to the other side, on top of a tall building, overlooking the familiar city bellow. It was dark, I kept forgetting that where I was, was on a different part of the planet, so it wasn't day anymore.

I looked down into the crowded streets below. I knew who I was looking for, and it wasn't like she was hard to find with her peculiar hair. I scanned the street below, knowing she was out there somewhere.

It took a little while, but eventually, I saw her. Her hair was longer, I hadn't noticed it when I saw her last.

I felt a familiar feeling in my chest. 'No' I thought. 'Not right now'.

As I watched her, I realized I didn't have the confidence to confront her yet. Mr. Valdez told me I didn't need to talk to her, only to make sure she didn't get into trouble. That's what I would do until she needed me, or I was ready to talk to her again.

I would observe, and that was it. I could feel my own expression soften a little, the anger and the pain that I felt almost everyday started to numb.

She stopped walking, like she had seen something, before turning my way. I stepped back a little, so she couldn't possible see me. She turned back and continued walking.

I got back out and started jumping to other buildings in her direction, following her.

Time skip. . .

The remainder of the night was uneventful, nothing came to attack, and she didn't do anything to pose a threat, she just went to some hotel, where I assumed to be where she was staying for the time being.

Mr. Valdez said that I already had a place to stay that was close, so I would assume he meant in this building. I waited a little bit, before walking into the building myself.

'I guess I should go and ask for a room' I thought to myself.

In the middle of my thoughts, a lady walked up to me and gave me a key.

"thirty-ninth floor, room 782. Watch 786", she said before walking away. The interaction was almost flawless, it made me slightly nervous on how many people could be watching me with such secrecy being necessary.

I followed her instructions, but I didn't want to risk bumping into anybody on my way there, so I walked to the outside of the building and created a portal to my room and walked through. Or, at least I thought it was my room.

They way my portal works, is very specific, and the slightest mistake can cost me. I have to think clearly about where I want to go, and I'll cut right to it, however, if my mind is not focused it could take me anywhere, which isn't a good thing.

Its happened a few times in the past, but nothing I couldn't just do over again and fix.

I walked through to the other side, into the room. Under quick inspection, I had seen other people's things in here. I looked around, and picked up a piece of clothing I found by my feet, it was someone's. . .bra? Clearly I was in the wrong place.

I was about to walk out, when something caught my eye almost immediately. I walked over to the desk, and picked up a picture. It was of me, and her. The picture was when we went to the beach that one day, the day the lab was attacked, and my sword broke. I actually looked happy in that picture. Back when I had almost nothing to worry about, because I had only recently joined the protocol.

I quickly realized I was in her room, I must've been thinking about the second room that lady had said to me.

Suddenly the door began to unlock.

3rd person P.O.V.

The door was opened by a young woman, suspecting nothing to be on the other side. She stepped inside, and nobody was there, not to her surprise.

She set her things down on her bed and opened the sliding glass door in the back of her room, leading to a small patio, overlooking the street and some of the city. She set her head down on the railing, looking up at the moon and the stars that glowed brightly in the night sky.

"Baka bukas mas maganda", she said. (Maybe tomorrow will be better)

Little did she know, that a man had narrowly escaped her room before he had been caught. He was hanging narrowly by a sword jammed into the wall just below where she was looking, completely out of her sight.

Despite dangling forty floors up in the air, with nothing but the slim handle of a katana to hang on to, he didn't show any sign of fear. He listened to her words.

'I haven't heard her voice for awhile, it was as soothing as I remember' he thought to himself.

She sighed, before returning to her room, so y/n pulled himself back up to safety, and jumped over to the room next to hers, which was the correct one.

Y/N P.O.V.:

I took a deep breath, that was far too close. How could I have even made that mistake with all the experience I had now? It was a clumsy mistake

Well there was nothing to think about except for the fact that she didn't see me, so there was no point in thinking about it.

I created another portal to take me inside my room, there was nobody in here, and no items inside, so I must be in the right place, however, I quickly checked the room number just outside the door to be sure.

Once I was sure I was in the right place, I set my sword down, and fell back onto the bed. I wasn't tired, probably because it wasn't night where I was, but I would have to break the jet lag now. So I tried to go to sleep, knowing full well I probably wouldn't.
