Falling for a Hitman

CHAPTER 13

Ruby's POV:

The one thing that freaked me out was that... she didn't freak out hearing all of the things I just said.

like did she get what I said? or is she in a massive shock? I couldn't tell it by her face...

"Molly? Did you even pay attention to what I was saying!" damn I sounded so shocked...

"yes,---" Molly was cut off from Josh

"He is back... Molly we have to tell her about this... we can't just keep this to ourselves... your mom told you to do this on your 25th birthday!" he whispered.

"I... Josh she has been through this much... do you still expect me to risk her life again... she literally fainted right now... its not the time..." Molly whispered back.

"you guys know that I am still here AND I can hear your whispering... what did mom tell you to tell me? Please Molly... I need to know what happening." I said with a firm voice, even though to felt so numb that I just needed a good 3 days' sleep... without any disturbance.

"okay..." she began the story which I wasn't prepared for... "10 y—first of all you know Robert Prichard right? The CEO of Prichard Company?" she asks.

"mhmm yeah I am aware about his name." I replied.

"right, so 10 years back, our dad and Robert were friends.. like business partners...." She kept on continuing the story, step by step I got to know who my father really was... my father worked as a Hitman and Robert Prichard was one of the deadliest hitman in the Texas... why he wanted his men to kill me because of my dad turning off the deal, how Robert was in love with my mum and the promise which my mum gave to Molly about telling me the truth of our family--- that's when my heart started racing... that's when I started piecing things together, Lorenzo said that he was a Hitman... the woods--- HE TRIED TO KILL ME IN THE WOODS BUT MISSED AND SHOT HIS SISTER. how could I not have figured it out! I had to tell Rachel about this... I can't let her be in danger, her brother is a Hitman...

But you heard the story don't you think he would have been blackmailed or something... he wouldn't risk his sister's life to do this!

My inner voice talked to me. I mean... sure he must have had complications... and why would he try to save me from that Simon guy if he wanted to kill me? I had to talk to him... not to know why he did this but to convince myself that he didn't mean any of those things he did, and to know that whatever feelings he had for me... was his plan or... was it real.

"Molly... I need time to process these things... please.. can I sleep? We can talk tomorrow if that's okay with you." I said in a numb voice.

"Yes, my precious little girl, we can talk tomorrow.. are you sure you are going to be okay?" she asked in a concerned voice.

"yes, I'll be fine. I just need a little sleep that's all."

She nodded and kissed my forehead and said goodbye and so did Josh. They left the room and I was alone.

I closed the lights and tried to sleep, in no time I don't when sleep took over me, but I felt relaxed.

.....

The sun kissed my face and it felt like a burning sensation but it was soothing. I opened my eyes and saw outside the window as it was a bright day. I felt more relaxed than yesterday, but I was still a little numb. I rolled out of the bed---

"Owww! Fuck!" I hit my head on the floor... clumsy as hell.

I go into the shower and take an ice cold bath... it helps me relax more!

I freshened up and went down stairs.

As I was walking into the living room I had a feeling which made me woozy a little and that feeling wasn't good. My stomach started to twist and all I wanted to do again was go in my bed and curl up until this feeling goes away. Every step towards the living room made my heartbeat race faster than million miles per hour. I smelled the clone... strong one which I was super familiar with and I was not going to like what was about to happen next.

As I entered the living room I saw a familiar figure sitting on the sofa, his back was turned towards me so I didn't see his face. But, I could feel it who it was. Messy hair with light brown highlights popping out as the sunlight hit on it and it looked perfect. He wore his white round neck T-shirt with black jeans, casual but classy at the same time. He was here, Lorenzo was here.

I walked further from where I was standing and he stood up and turned around, he would have sensed that I was entering the room.

He looked like he was going through hell, dark circles under his eyes.. he looked like he hadn't been sleeping for decades... the glow on his face was not there anymore.

"Ruby..." gosh his raspy voice... that's when I realised further how much I missed him.

Tears welled up in my eyes... gosh not again.

"you are awake... you have a visitor... oh you met him... already... well I'll give you two your space... if you need me Ruby please call me.. I am going to work." Molly said as she came out of the kitchen.

Not having the energy to respond or open my mouth... I just nodded in response.

The twist in my stomach got even tighter and the heartbeat was racing faster than before. I heard the front door's lock click, she was gone. I was alone with Lorenzo.

He shoved his hands in his jeans pockets and gestured me towards the sofa to sit beside him... and have a talk.

I knew I had to talk to him some day... but I didn't know it was this sooner. 

"Ruby... I miss you so much... I can't handle any other day without you please..." he said in a deep voice. It almost sounded like he was about to cry but he was holding back those tears.

"I need to know the truth Lorenzo... I need to know everything.. from the starting." I knew everything about this situation from Molly, but I wanted to hear it from him, that'd make me believe it more and make me overcome the bolted feelings I have in me. The twist in my stomach got extreme, gosh I am going to be sick.

"alright... I'll tell you everything." He says.

A/N:

Well that was an intense chapter! I know I haven't been posting... and I don't want to stop this story either it's just that I had my exams going on so I couldn't really complete this chapter! Any which ways I hope you enjoy this chapter and tell me in the comments what do you think about Lorenzo and Ruby. Are they going to get together or.. are they never gonna talk again? Keep reading to find out! See you in the next chapter! I know its a small chapter, but I wanted it to be more interesting in the next chapter as they are going to have an intense conversation.
