Kabanata 31- Healing

KHIANA's POV

"WELCOME HOME!"

Finally, the both of us can be together again. We can finally be happy. Mahigpit akong niyakap ni Ryker. Kalalabas niya lang sa mental institution. He's finally okay and better right now.

"Are you real?" he asked me as he touched my face. "You're so beautiful."

Naiiyak na hinawakan ko ang kamay niya na nakahawak sa pisngi ko. "I am real and I am yours." Hindi na ako makapaghintay at binigyan ko siya ng halik. "You know, I missed you so much."

"I missed you too. Damn! Ni hindi ko nga alam paano ako nakatagal do'n ng wala ka," sabi nito sa akin.

"Ryker, I have a surprise for you!" I said .

"What is that? I'm excited!" saad nito pero halata sa kanyang mukha ang kaba.

"Close your eyes!" I said.

Umiling 'to kasabay nang pagtawa. "Alright!"

He followed my order when I told him not to open his eyes. Then, from the room, I pushed the two cribs with wheels. When I already brought them in the living room I told Ryker to. "Open your eyes., baby"

Nakita ko ang pagkagulat sa kanyang mga mata kasabay nang pag awang ng kanyang bibig. His eyes watered in joy. He carried one of the twins in his arms. "Khiana. . .What's this?"

"Our children, our twins."

Pinaliwanag ko kay Ryker na nalaman ko na buntis ako no'ng kasal ni Tiffany and River. Gulat na gulat siya pero mas lamang ang pagkasaya niya. Kitang-kita ko iyon mula sa ekspresyon ng mukha niya.

"B-bakit hindi mo sinasabi sa akin?"

"Gusto kung isorpresa ka kaya hindi ko pinaalam. Para pag nakalabas ka na at nakauwi ay sila ang bubungad sayo." nakangiting sagot ko.

"What's their name?" he asked.

"Reverie Kianne and Real Kionne."

"Their names suits well," he commented.

I couldn't help but be overcome with emotion as I saw Ryker play with his twins, our boy and our girl. It had been a year since his accident, and it was a delight to see him well and happy. We'd gone through a lot together, and now we had a lovely family. Masaya ako na binigyan ko siya ng masayang pamilya.

Napagdesisyunan namin bumalik sa Vista Verde para magbakasyon sandali. Ryker told me that he also wanted to spend time with me and the kids.

Naagaw ni Ryker ang atensyon ko nang bigla niya akong tawagin. "Khiana," patuloy niya. His voice is so sweet and calm that I could melt. Then he continued, "May importante akong sasabihin sayo."

My heart skipped a beat as I waited to hear what he had to say. "What is it?" I asked, feeling both excited and worried.

"Can we have dinner later?"

"Where?"

He smiled. "That's a secret."

Natawa naman ako sa sagot niya. "Sure."

I can't remember the last time na na-solo ko si Ryker. Ever since he came back, ang una niyang hinahanap ay si Reverie and Real. Lahat ng atensyon niyab ay nasa mga bata. Nagseselos tuloy ako ng slight. But I get it, it still feels surreal for him having Reverie and Real in our lives.

Nang makarating ako sa sinabi niya sa akin na place, it was near the shore.

"Wow!"

The sea was occupied with lanterns and they looked like stars that fell above the sea. Sobrang ganda at hindi ako makapaniwala. Parang hindi totoo... parang panaginip lang.

"Did you like it?" It was Ryker's voice. Napalingon naman ako sa kanya. Then, I saw a band behind him. "They're as beautiful as you."

Pero hindi natatapos ang lahat ng 'yon doon. Nakita ko sa likuran niya ang pagdating ng malalapit na tao sa buhay namin. Si Tiffany, River, Eliz, Thalia, Uncle Lució, Auntie Sally, Mommy Zamara  and Daddy Richard. They are all here!

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you," he added as he took my hand in his own. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

As I stared at him, tears welled up in my eyes, overwhelmed with love and delight. "Me too," I responded, wrapping my arms around him and kissing him passionately. 

Ryker went down on one knee as we strolled hand in hand down the shore. "Khiana," he added as he pulled a tiny package from his pocket. "I want to make this formal. I adore you more than anything else in the world. Will you honor me by becoming my wife?"

My heart was hammering in my chest as I gazed at him, overcome with joy and love. "Yes," I answered, just above a whisper. "I will marry you."

The remainder of our time at the resort was spent planning our wedding, enthusiastic and pleased about our future together. Pag-uwi namin ay agad kaming nagtrabaho, determinadong bumuo ng isang mahusay na kumpanya ng magkasama. Hindi ito madali, ngunit gumawa kami ng isang reputasyon para sa aming sarili sa mundo ng negosyo sa pamamagitan ng pagsusumikap at tiyaga. Our firm immediately expanded, and we soon became one of the most successful enterprises in our field.

Ryker and I stayed profoundly in love throughout it all, supporting one other through life's ups and downs. We never forgot where we came from, and we never forgot the obstacles we had to face to be where we were.

Then, we got married. It was just simple just like how we always wanted. It's just our family and friends. It was simple but memorable.

Looking back on all we'd gone through, I couldn't help but be thankful for everything that had brought us to this point. I am lucky to be with Ryker. Marami man kaming pinagdaanan ay naging matagumpay naman kami. Kaya sa hinaharap ay mas pagtitibayin pa namin ang relasyon na meron kami.

We both focused on our kids and our businesses. I thought there was nothing in this world that could ever separate us as we sat together, watching our children play. We were a family, and we were united by love and a strong devotion to one another.

Life was fantastic, and I knew that as long as I had Ryker by my side, we would be able to conquer any obstacles that arose. We'd established a life full of love, happiness, and prosperity together, and I knew the best was yet to come.

No more wrecked hearts.

It's just me and Ryker and our healed hearts.
