Chapter Two- Double Movie Night

-NICK-

Heyy! Do you wanna go to the movies with
Me Matt and Chris?

Yeah sure. I just need to get ready first.

Alr see you in 10 minutes!

"Hey Allison! We missed you!" Nick exclaimed as he smiled, and I climbed into the backseat.

"Yeah." Matt said, looking over at me through the car mirror.

Chris didn't say anything. He was on his phone.

I had been on a 2 week long vacation with my mom to California, and hadn't seen the boys in weeks. It was the longest I had ever gone without seeing them.

Sometimes Chris doesn't really acknowledge me, and it makes me sad. But I have had many times where I talk to him for a while, just sit down and talk. Those nights are amazing. But they rarely ever happen, and when they do he acts like it never happened the next day and just keeps ignoring me.

One night a year ago we had been talking for about an hour, and it suddenly got quiet. Chris was looking down at his hands, fidgeting with them. I looked over at him, his face lit up by the moonlight.

He's so pretty i thought.

He looked up at me and caught me staring at him, and he held eye contact with me. We must have been 2 feet away from each other, I felt so nauseous with all the butterflies in my stomach. He broke the eye contact first. I don't know what happened, but he started to lean towards me. Now we were one foot away. He kept leaning in, but he didn't look at me. Until Nick came outside to get Chris for a video. He snapped away from me, startled.

"Aww, were you two about to kiss?" Nick asked playfully, not knowing we actually could have.

Chris looked down, said nothing and walked away. But as he got to the door he stopped and said, "Goodnight, Allison."

I never forgot that night.

"Helloooo? Come back to earth, Alison." Nick said, waving his hands back and forth in front of my face to get me to stop zoning out.

"We're here."

"Are you ok? You look like your mind is somewhere else." Nick said as we walked into the movie theater, eyeing me.

"Oh sorry, I'm ok. Your right i just have a lot on my mind right now." I didn't realize that for the whole 20 minute long drive I had been zoning out thinking about Chris.

We were seeing the movie fall, and Matt knew I hated heights.

"Are you excited for the movie?" Matt asked, smirking.

"Yeah, Yeah." I said, rolling my eyes.

I noticed something kinda weird about Matt today. Every time I looked over at him, he was staring at me. He always broke our eye contact the second I looked in his direction, but I could feel him staring at me when I would look away.

The movie ended, and we threw away our popcorn and empty candy wrappers.

After the movie, we decided to go back to their house  and hang out on their couch. Without realizing it, we had stayed up super late. Nick yawned. "I'm gonna go to bed alright Alison? Come to my room when your ready to go to bed." 

"Alright. I'm gonna stay up a little longer I think. Goodnight." I replied.

Chris ended up leaving after a few minutes too, after saying goodnight to me and Matt.

"You what's on right now?" Matt says smirking, as he turns to face me.

I look at the tv and see Benchwarmers is on, Matt's all time favorite movie.

"Well what are you waiting for? Turn it on!" I exclaimed, getting cozy with my blanket.

"Alright." Matt said, smiling.

Once the movie was over, it was 3 am and I was getting really tired. I cleaned up my blankets and started to leave, but as I was walking away Matt said, "Tonight was really fun. Let's make a movie night every Friday, just us."

"Alright!" I exclaimed. "That sounds fun."

"Goodnight Alison."

"Goodnight Matt."
