Andrei Sevyn's POV
"First, I want to start by saying congratulations on the Dubai Conference. I got a lot of positive feedback from some of my colleagues who were there. You guys did an excellent job, at umuwi kayong pareho buhay."
Natawa na lang kami ni Vega.
"You're both very intelligent and hardworking. But one of you stood out more than the other recently."
Dami pang pa-suspense ni boss. Kulang nalang maghawakan pa kami ni Sevyn ng kamay as if we're the last two candidates in Miss Universe.
The moment of truth.
"Our new senior financial analyst... Vega!"
Our boss still congratulated me and praised my work. Naputol ang conversation namin when someone called, kaya kami ni Vega ang naiwan sa conference room.
"Congrats." Sabi ko. I was sincere, pero syempre, bragging rights 'to para kay Vega at hindi niya 'to palalagpasin.
"Sabi ko sayo eh." Sabi niya, flipping her hair sabay kindat pa.
"Nautakan mo lang ako, Vega." I said, then I leaned in to whisper. "Masyado mo akong binaliw sa pang aakit mo, na-distract ako at nawala yung isip ko sa promotion. And for that... congrats."
When I left the conference room, sinalubong ako ni RJ.
"Bro, I heard Vega got the promotion. Sorry. But what happened ba? Bakit siya nakakuha?"
"I got sidetracked. But it's no big deal, honestly."
He tapped my shoulder. "Anyway, winner ka padin naman."
"Huh?"
"Di mo pa ba alam? Since Vega got promoted, bakante na yung position niya. And may nahanap agad na kapalit."
"Really? May bago na agad?"
"Yes! Wait I have a photo of her." RJ pulled out his phone and showed me a photo of a girl named Allison. Mukhang half pinoy, and half american. Maputi, mahaba ang buhok na blonde o balayage ba ang tawag, tapos sexy. Kita pa dibdib sa picture na pinakita sakin. "Damn. Makakasama mo 'to araw araw."
