Chapter 92 - Trust

Vega Beatrice's POV

11,736 miles away, with a 15-hour time difference.

Thank God facetime exists. I wake up early to say goodnight to Sevyn, and he stays up late to say good morning to me.

Sevyn: Babe, lalabas kami ni Kevin. Umuwi na naman yung gago. Okay lang ba?

Vega: Sure baby. Ingat ha? Nagre-ready na din ako for the conference.

Habang pababa sa elevator, I came across a new post from Kevin. It was a photo of him and Sevyn captioned with 'fuckboy vibes'. Sevyn reposted it and said 'ikaw lang gago' - kaya di ko naiwasang matawa.

Very good. Loyal.



Andrei Sevyn's POV

"Woah. Take it easy on the shots, bro." Pagsasaway ni Kevin. "May problema ba?"

Hindi ko natiis, sinabi ko na sakanya lahat about samin ni Vega. Napa-shot nalang si Kevin ng sunod sunod because he was surprised and he couldn't process everything.

"Panalong panalo ka naman pala sa babae mo. Then why are you so miserable?"

"Mahal ko na."

Kevin's jaw dropped. Of course I'm not surprised. This guy always thought love isn't in my vocabulary.

"What the fuck are you talking about?!"

"I'm so fucking crazy about this girl, bro. Seryoso. She's in LA for a business trip and I swear para na akong mababaliw sa sobrang pagkamiss sakanya."

Kevin laughed and refilled our shot glasses.

"Di mo naman yan mahal, bro. Sadyang bago pa kasi that's why you feel that way. Kasi di mo pa pinagsasawaan."

Out of nowhere, someone called me. "Andrei...?"





Vega Beatrice's POV

"Representative from the Chua Finance Group in the Philippines, we have Ms. Vega Beatrice Celestial."

There were over 150 participants in this conference kaya ang daming pumapalakpak as I went up to the podium. The room is full of well-known people from the finance industry, kaya yung position kong Senior Financial Analyst eh sobrang baba pa compared sa mga andito.

I did a lot of preparations for this presentation kaya paunti-unti din nawala yung kaba ko as I watched the reactions of everyone in the crowd na mukhang nabibilib.

"CFG offers comprehensive financial and strategic services including banking, security, trust.."

Trust.

Bigla akong natigilan kahit memorize ko naman yung dapat kong sabihin. Parang may kakaiba akong nararamdaman.

I froze for a few seconds but I immediately put my shit together and continued with the presentation. Thank God I was able to finish kahit ang lakas ng kabog ng dibdib ko.

Pagbaba ko ng stage, agad akong pumunta sa may buffet table to grab  a glass of cold water. After that, kinuha ko yung phone ko at lumabas ako para tawagan si Sevyn.

Nakailang tawag ako pero hindi siya sumasagot. I decided to just answer work emails instead kesa mag isip ng kung ano ano.

Thirty minutes later, I got a call from him. My hand was shaking as I swiped the button to answer and put the phone to my ear.

It was super quiet on the other end of the line. I decided to stay silent and just listen carefully. Palakas ng palakas yung kabog ng dibdib ko with every second that passed. Hindi ko na natiis, nagsalita na ako.

Vega: Hello? Sevyn?

Sevyn: Hi babe.

Para akong nabunutan ng tinik ng marinig ko na yung boses niya. Ewan ko ba bakit feeling ko kanina may maririnig akong hindi dapat o iba ang makakausap ko.

Vega: Jusko. Why didn't you answer my calls kanina? Tska bakit di ka nagsasalita kanina? Asan ka ba?

Sevyn: I'm sorry baby kooooo. Are you mad at me po?

Aba. Pinakaba ako at pinagalala tapos dinaan lang ako sa papapa-cute.

Sevyn: You're miles away but I know you're rolling your eyes at me.

I couldn't help but giggle. He knows me so well.

Sevyn: Switch to facetime, babe. I need to see your face.

The moment I turned my camera on, Sevyn started crying.

Vega: What the hell, Sevyn? What's wrong with you? Lasing ka ba?

He exaggeratedly nodded his head kaya alam kong lasing na lasing talaga.

Vega: Bakit ka ba umiiyak?!

Sevyn: Mababaliw na ata ako.

Vega: Bakit ba?! Hoy!

He suddenly disappeared from the frame dahil parang binaba yung ulo niya sa mesa.

Sevyn: Miss na miss na kita babeeee! Huhu!

I just laughed as he cried harder.

Vega: Stop crying na. Malapit na akong umuwi.

Sevyn: Malapit na rin ako mabaliw. Huhu.

Haha! Hay jusko talaga 'tong big baby ko. Hindi niya alam sobrang miss na miss ko na din siya.

When he calmed down, nakapagusap na kami ng maayos. He was still sniffing from time to time though. Sinipon sa kakaiyak. Haha! What a cutie.

Sevyn: So, how was your presentation?

Vega: It went great, baby. Alam mo ba bilib na bilib sila sakin.

Sevyn: Ang galing talaga ng Vega ko. I'm so proud of you, babe. Kiss kita.

Vega ko. Inangkin ba naman. But I'm not complaining though.

Sevyn pouted and went closer to the camera. I pouted too as if I was receiving his kiss.

Vega: Ikaw? How was your night?

Sevyn: Ayos lang. I just wanted to go out kasi nga para akong mababaliw mag isa dito sa sobrang pagkamiss sayo. Di ko nasagot call mo kasi I was struggling to walk to my unit.

I laughed and stared at his face. Mapungay yung mata sa kalasingan at magulo yung buhok pero napaka pogi parin.

Sevyn: Grabe naman kung makatitig, babe.

Vega: Haha. I'm just wondering if you'll remember all of this in the morning. Yung pag iyak iyak mo.

Natawa naman siya.

Sevyn: I don't know. But I think a drunk mind speaks a sober heart.

Vega: Matulog ka na. Parang babagsak na mga mata mo. I need to go back to the conference na din.

Sevyn: Wait babe. Antayin mo muna ako makatulog. Please?

Pinapanindigan na talaga ni Sevyn ang pagiging big baby.

Vega: Okay. Sige na, sleep na.

Sevyn: Goodnight babe. Ay goodnight pala sakin, good morning sayo pala. I miss you.

Vega: I miss you too.

He put his phone on his desk and closed his eyes. Hay. Ngayon lang ako nainggit sa unan. Sana ako yung niyayakap niya ngayon.

After a few minutes, he started snoring. Nakanganga pa ha, kaya I took a screenshot. Haha.

"I love you." Bulong ko before ending the call.
