With shaking hands, I dialed Ace's number. "Meet me at our secret spot. Mag usap tayo."
Ace's car was parked in a corner, and I got into the passenger's seat.
"Thank you dahil pumayag kang makipagusap sakin." Panimula niya.
I just looked out the window dahil hindi ko kayang tingnan siya. "Pano kung nag usap agad tayo? Itutuloy mo pa kaya yung kasal niyo?" I took a deep breath. "Iiwan mo ba yung pamilya mo para sakin? Mas pipiliin mo ba ako?"
Hindi nakasagot si Ace. "Your silence says a lot." Sabi ko. "Akala ko mahal mo ako."
"Oo, V. Mahal naman talaga kita."
I finally had the courage to turn my head and look at him. "Edi bakit mo 'ko niloko?! Pinagpalit mo lahat ng pinagsamahan natin para sa isang gabi, Ace. Pano mo yun nagawa? Bakit?"
At this point, I was already crying.
"Ngayon iimbitahan mo ako sa kasal mo pagkatapos mong sabihin na mahal mo pa ako?!" "Sinabi ko lang yung totoo. I still love you, V. And I know I always will. At gusto kong malaman mo yun." Ace cried too. "Kahit gago ako at niloko kita. Kahit parang niloloko ko rin si Keila sa ginagawa ko."
Di ako makahinga ng maayos. Para akong sinasakal.
"Even with Keila and our child in the picture... mahal parin kita. Mahal na mahal." Sabi ni Ace, tapos niyakap niya ako.
