Chapter 66 - Superman

Vega Beatrice's POV

Ace and I have been occupying the conference room for past 3 days so that we could lay out all the needed papers in one desk. Hindi kasi kasya sa opisina ko.

I like being here though, kasi at least di ko naririnig yung nakakairitang giggles ni Allison, and malaki ang space kaya hindi kami masyado magkalapit ni Ace.

"Vega."

"Hmm?"

"May boyfriend ka na ba?"

I was surprised by Ace's question pero hindi ako nagpahalata and I just continued working.

"Sabi ko you can always ask, pero work-related lang."

Biglang umupo si Ace sa harap ko at inabot yung kamay ko na nasa mesa.

"I want us to focus on our work, Vega. We both know how much we value our career. Pero pano tayo magfo-focus? There's still a lot of tension between us. Can we talk about... us? Please?"

After all these months, and after what he did to me- his gaze and his touch could still make me freeze.

Just by looking into Ace's eyes, parang naalala ko lahat ng panahon na masaya pa kami. Dati pag gising ko sa umaga, pag dilat ko, makikita ko na nakatingin agad sakin yung mga matang 'to.

"Mag usap tayo, Vega. Please..."

I couldn't move and I couldn't speak. Buti nalang biglang may kumatok at nagbukas ng pinto.

"Vega..." Sevyn's eyes instantly landed on Ace's hand na nakapatong sa kamay ko, then he looked into my eyes. Alam ko alam niyang konti nalang iiyak na ako. "Um, I need you in my office. Now na. Urgent 'to."

Para akong nahimasmasan sa boses niya so I was finally able to move. I slowly pulled my hand back. "Excuse me." Sabi ko kay Ace then I stood up.

Sevyn held the door for me hanggang nakalabas ako, then we walked to his office. Buti wala si Allison dahil sinama ng boss namin sa meeting.

"What's wrong?" Sabi ni Sevyn nang makapasok na kami.

Agad akong naiyak sa tanong niya. Agad rin naman niya akong niyakap. It was comforting, but I pulled away after a few seconds. "Baka may makakita."

"Ano nga problema? Gugulpihin ko na talaga yun."

I shook my head. "He just wants to talk."

"Gusto mo ba?"

"Hindi ko alam. Di nga ako nakagalaw o nakapagsalita eh. Buti nalang dumating ka."

"Well... pag isipan mo kung gusto mong makipagusap. You can't avoid him dahil sa work. Unless I send him to the hospital."

"Sevyn. Tsk."

"Mag decide ka na, at sabihin mo sakanya yung decision mo. If you say no and he doesn't stop bothering you..."

"Gugulpihin mo siya. Oo alam ko."

I sat on the couch, at tinabihan naman ako ni Sevyn.

"What do you think? Dapat ba kami mag usap?" Tanong ko sakanya. I can't believe I'm asking advice from the person I hated since college.

"Honestly, I think you should talk. Pero kapag ready ka na."

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. "Sir, may naghahanap po sainyo sa baba." Sabi ng intern kay Sevyn.

"Sige. I'll be down in a bit. May pinapa-pirmahan lang ako kay Ma'am Vega mo."

When the intern left, Sevyn handed me the papers.

"Alam mo ba, I was going to the conference room para papirmahan 'to and para pikunin ka."

I rolled my eyes. "But good timing though, you saved me."

"Superman na ako ng buhay mo niyan?"

"Mamaya ka nalang mamikon Sevyn. Utang na loob."

He just laughed tapos tumayo na. "I'll go down na muna. See you later."
