"Dude, these guys have got to come on tour with us!"

We were sat back in the lounge and Jack, who was the most reluctant of the four at first, seemed to be the most impressed.

"I second that!" Rian exclaimed. Zack and Alex both nodded in agreement.

Jack checked his phone, "Oh shit, the party!"

"Crap! What time is it?" Alex looked a little less concerned than his voice suggested.

"6 thirty. Starts at 7."

"That's long enough." Alex stood up before remembering we were all still here. "Do you guys wanna come with? It nothing too fancy, just a little nightclub down the road. It's a sort of 'farewell' thing for the tour. But it's formal dress. Just stick on a tie and you're good to go."

A party? No way. Nope. I don't do parties. Strange, drunken people, crappy music and a banging headache. Say no, Kaitlyn. Say no.

"I'd love to!"

I mentally slapped myself. All the guys agreed to come too- they never turned down alcohol or a good time.

I panicked for a moment, realising something.

"We've got nothing to wear!"

"We can sort that!" Alex was quick on the ball, "Lads, you can borrow some of our shit. And Kaitlyn-"

Jack chimed in, being surprisingly helpful, "You guys get dressed. I'm all ready to go so I'll run her down to the high street real quick and pick something up."

"Oh, no, Jack. You really don't have to, it's fine! I'll just go in these-"

"No. Come on, let's go." He got to his feet and held out his hand to me. I sighed and reached out. Jack pulled me to my feet, grabbed his keys and we left.

"Are you almost done?" Jack shouted at me through the dressing room door.

"Almost!"

"Can you at least show me what I'm spending my money on?"

"No- it's a surprise!" I was glad he couldn't see the huge grin on my face as I spoke, "Just go to the counter, pay and I'll be out in a second!"

I heard him sigh and shuffle away. I zipped up the dress- deep purple, knee length in a skater style, with sequin embellishments. The shop assistant had picked out a pair of silver wedged sandals to go with it, which I strapped on nervously. It was all little out of my comfort zone (which was mostly skinny jeans and t-shirts) but I felt incredible in it. I had so much confidence- for once. I tugged my fingers through my hair, and grabbed my clothes from the hook.

"Finally! I was beginning to wonder-" Jack immediately stopped speaking as he spun around to face me, his jaw slackened. "Holy shit."

I wasn't sure if the reaction was good or bad, and I panicked a little. Jack walked up to me, and stood no more than a matter of inches away. He kept flickering his eyes from my face to the outfit.

"What? Oh god- it looks terrible doesn't it?! I knew I should have picked something less fussy-"

He rested both hand on my shoulders, and I looked down at my feet.

"Hey..." He removed a hand and used it to lift my chin up, "You look stunning."

"Really? You promise?" I held out a pinky finger.

He hooked finger around mine, "I promise."
