"Jack?"
"Yes?"
"I don't understand."
"Don't understand what?"
"Why you love me. I don't even love myself, I don't think I ever have. I have too many insecurities. I can't fathom the idea that you find me beautiful, because it's a word I would never use to describe myself-"
"Stop. You don't need to understand why, you just need to know that you mean everything to me."
"And that's exactly when I start to wonder why. Why me? You have all of your friends, and your family- then I'm just here. Not doing a whole lot." I sighed.
"You are family."
A tight knot formed in my throat as tears stated to fall. I wasn't expecting that.
"How am I family?"
"Because you just are. And one day you'll be my wife, and be family for real. Then we'll start our own family."
