It was a tight squeeze in the lounge, what with 8 of us crammed in. I snapped another quick photo without anyone noticing. We sat for almost an hour discussing the tour and what would happen, where we'd stay and everything else.
"Well, there's not enough space on the bus for everyone..." Rian pointed out.
"Wait, have we still got our old bus in storage?" Alex sat forward as he started with a solution.
Zack nodded, "It should still be there. I mean, we never told anyone to get rid of it."
Alex left the room to make a call. I'd been trying to avoid any contact with Jack since last night- I had no idea where either of us stood now. But I knew we had to talk about it.
"I-uh need to use the bathroom. Could one of you show me where is it please?" I looked over at Jack.
He got the message and stood up, "C'mon, I'll take you."
He gently pushed my back to motion me out of the room. He led me past Alex and up the stairs, into what he told me was his room. He closed the door behind us, and I sat on the crumpled bed.
"We need to talk..." Jack fiddled with the hem of his shirt, and leant against the wall opposite me.
"No shit, Sherlock."
"Look, the kiss-"
"Was a mistake. I agree. Let's just forget it ever happened and-" Once again, he cut off my speech with his lips against mine. "You're making a habit of this, Mr Barakat!"
He sat next to me on the bed, and we turned to face each other.
"Do you really think it was a mistake? Cause if you do then I feel fucking stupid for doing that just now..."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and stared into his eyes, "No. I just said that because... Well, I wasn't sure how you felt and I didn't want to be clingy..."
"What happens now?"
"I don't know..."
"Ok, for now... Let's pretend to the others that nothing happened and we'll figure this out on our own, yeah?"
I nodded in agreement and we went back downstairs. Jack entered the room a minute or so before me, so as to make things look a little less suspicious.
"Good, you're back!" Alex smiled and shuffled up on the sofa so that jack could sit down. I took my place back on the floor.
"Okay..." Zack started, "Matt- our tour manager- has agreed to let you come on tour with us-"
"Dude, that's awesome! But he hasn't even heard us play...?" My excitement was quickly replaced with concern.
Alex cut in, "We... We might have recorded you..."
"Well, I guess that means one less nerve-wracking audition for us! Go on, Zack."
"Ok. We've also got you our old tour bus- which we're gonna get your logo painted onto! The entire thing is gonna be re-done with new furniture and shit. That thing's been in storage for almost 3 years soooo..."
"Holy. Shit." I leapt from my perch, "You guys are fucking incredible!" Everyone stood up and hugs flew around the room like nobody's business.
"So, how much do we owe you?" Joe asked, pulling his wallet from his back pocket and taking out a blank check.
"Put your fucking money away, dude." Alex laughed.
We all spent an hour or so chatting, until it got dark.
Jack checked the clock on the wall, "How's about we order a few pizzas and put on a movie?"
He called the local pizzeria and we all enjoyed the evening together. It got to around 9 and Joe left to see Sarah, dropping Ben off at his flat on the way. Not too long after, Sam decided to leave.
"C'mon Froggatt- I'm your ride." Sam motioned for me to come, but I protested.
"I'm gonna stay and help clean up. I mean, it's the least I can do."
"How're you gonna get home?" Sam asked, twirling his keys around his fingers.
"One of us will give her a ride home later." Rian suggested from across the room.
"Okay, see you soon!" He left the now more comfortable house. As big as this place was, so many people in a single room was a pretty bad scenario.
Alex was already in the kitchen washing dishes, and Zack had left for his own home.
Rian flexed his arms above his head and yawned.
"Well, I'd better go see how Cass is doing... Are you gonna be okay clearing up?" Me and Jack nodded almost simultaneously. Rian called into the kitchen, "ALEX, IF YOU WANT A RIDE HOME- I'M LEAVING NOW!"
A few moments passed and the two men left.
"So, this is your house?" I asked Jack, turning to face him.
He placed a hand on my lower back, "All mine. Everyone has their own room but..."
"Well then, if we're alone..."
