Sam's POV

I don't know how long it was after the crash, but I awoke to the sound of sirens, gasps and a buzz saw cutting through metal. I looked around trying to gather what had happened, but as my eyes rested on Jack beside me my heart sank. He was almost completely covered in blood, but his chest was still moving.

"Holy fuck! Shit! Shit!" I shouted. My voice sounded limp and pathetic but someone must have heard me because I got a reply.

"Sir, please keep still! We'll come get as soon as we can!" My heart was racing. We were all still trapped in the mangled car and the Emergency Services were racing around, trying to free us. I looked around once more to find Alex, and luckily I heard a low groan from in front of me.

"Alex? You ok?" He turned around as best he could and nodded.

"H-how are you two?" He croaked out.

"Were both fine... Well, we're alive at least." My voice was low and raspy, but I was so glad we were all alive.

At that moment I heard a scream come from outside the car. It was a woman's, and I originally thought it was Kaitlyn, but then realised that the voice was too high pitched. I thought about who it could be, but then I heard shouting.

"My boyfriend's in there! Get him out!"

I immediately shouted back, as I needed to know who it was, "Lily!?"

I was greeted by the sound of crying and a barrage of questions, "What happened? Are you alright? You're not hurt are you?"

"Lily, baby, I'm fine." I called out. There was no reply, just crying.

I suddenly realised that, when we crashed, a large piece of metal had sliced into my left thigh. I gawped at it in horror, unable to fathom any words. The pain it came flooding into my system, making me feel sick to the stomach. I couldn't fight back a scream.

After what felt like hours of being in a car with soul destroying pain, we were all finally free. We were rushed straight to hospital having sustained major injuries and a huge loss of blood.

A week passed and I was back on my feet. It turned out the metal had sliced straight into the bone and snapped it clean. I needed crutches and It was unbearably painful, but I needed to get out and find out what happened to my best friend. After a long conversation with countless doctors, they decided that I could go home if someone came with me. Joe, Ben and Lily had been here all week, so they packed up my things and helped me to the car. Joe drove Ben and Lily home and then he headed for my home. I unlocked the door and hobbled into the lounge with Joe's help.

I turned to him, "We've got to go and find Kaitlyn..." He nodded and I dialled Evie's number.

I ended the conversation. It turned out Kaitlyn was still at Evie's and knew nothing about the accident. But something was wrong. The tone in her voice when she told me about Kaitlyn was worrying as hell. I needed to go and see her.

Me and Joe got back into his car. He floored it, my heart was racing.

"I'm not letting anything happen to her." I whispered, mostly to myself. Joe must have heard me as he laid a consoling hand on my shoulder.

"Me either."
