I'd been sat in the waiting room for hours, at least 3. They were still 'checking on him'. I was getting more panicked by the second.

My phone rang for the 5th time in a row. Jack. I had to pick up.

"Hi..." I tried to sound happy.

"Fucking hell, Kaitlyn! Finally! I've been worried sick I've called you multiple times and- wait, what's wrong?"

Him getting angry had just started up the water works again.

"Nothing, I'm fine."

"What's wrong." This time it wasn't a question.

"It's Sam. I went over to his place to ask him something, and he was passed out on the floor. No matter what I tried I couldn't g-get him t-to wake up..." I was just sobbing now, recalling the story.

"Hey, hey it's okay. Calm down, baby. So, where are you?" His voice was so calming.

"The h-hospital." I sniffed.

"I'll be there in 10. I love you, stay strong."

"I love you." He hung up and at that exact moment, a doctor walked up to me.

"Are you Kaitlyn Froggatt? The one who brought Samuel Casadei in?" He flipped some paper.

"That's me." I smiled and wiped away the last of my tears, "Is he okay?"

"I checked his previous reports, and he was admitted a few months ago. Is that correct?" I nodded, "Yes, well, that bone that snapped in his leg before? It's re-snapped, to put it bluntly. We've popped the bone back into place, and they're just finishing up putting another cast on. Once this cast is off, he'll need follow up surgery to strengthen the bone so this doesn't happen again."

"What kind of surgery?" I breathed.

"Sort of... Metal plates to hold the bone around where it keeps breaking." He smiled comfortingly.

"You said he's conscious? Can I go and see him, please?"

"10 minutes. Like I said, they're finishing up his cast. A nurse will come and get you." He smiled and walked away.

I sat back down and realised I hadn't called Joe, Ben or Lily. They were clueless as to Sam's situation.

"I'll wait, and see what Sam wants to do." I whispered.

"Kaitlyn!?" I heard pounding footsteps up the corridor and looked up to see Jack sprinting. I jumped up into his arms and burst out crying, again.

"Let it out." He rubbed circles on my back as I sobbed. Once I'd calmed down he sat down with me and I explained everything I knew.

"He said a nurse will be out any minute." I smiled sadly.

"Miss Froggatt?" A nurse was peering down the corridor.

"Speak of the devil." I nudged Jack.

"I'll wait right here." He gently pushed me towards her.

She led me into Sam's room. He looked rough, tired. He smiled a little when he saw me.

"Hey." He croaked.

"Hi."

"Thank you, for bringing me in. If you hadn't come when you did, I might've been lying on the floor still." He laughed, causing a coughing fit.

"You okay?" I asked when he'd calmed.

"Mhm."

"What actually happened, Sam."

"I jumped, literally, out of bed to go get a snack. My leg just made this horrible cracking sound and I buckle over. I couldn't get up. I guess I passed out then, it was so painful." He frowned.

"I can guess. I can't believe you're back in this place, because of me."

"This time I'm here because of you for the right reasons. You brought me in."

We carried on chatting for a while before I brought up Ben, Joe and Lily.

"Have you told them?" Sam asked.

"I wanted to wait and see what you wanted to do."

"Don't worry them, just leave it. I'll ring Lily in the morning and tell her some band stuff came up, or something. You go home, Kaitlyn, you look exhausted."

I did as told and bid farewell. Jack drove us both home.

"Get me a beer, will you babes?" I winked when we got home.

"Coming right up."

We sat, talking for a short while, before putting on a movie.

"Home Alone?" Jack clapped his hands.

"Fine." I giggled, "But I get to take a photo of you. Those are my terms."

"Okay." He smiled and I took the shot.

"Very cute!" I laughed.

We settled in to watch the movie. The last thing I remembered was the aftershave scene, before drifting off.
