When I woke, Jack had one arm behind my back and the rest of him was sprawled out across his half of the double bed. I cautiously waved a hand above his face- he was still flat out. I lifted the covers and got out of bed as slowly as I could. I grabbed his 'BONER' t-shirt from the pile that was growing on his floor, and slipped it over my head. It was luckily long enough on me- one advantage of being short. I left the room and went down into the kitchen.

I stood by the kitchen counter and just thought for a moment. Within 2 days, I had met my idols of 8 years, been invited on tour with them, and slept with the guy I'd had a crush on all this time.

Well, shit.

"Okay, what's for breakfast..." I snapped out of my daydream, opened the fridge and all the cupboards. The only breakfast food was a few eggs and a packet of sausages. There was also a loaf of bread hiding behind a load of beer cans.

"Let's see what we can do!"

I cooked the eggs and sausages and put the bread in the toaster. I boiled some water and poured two cups of coffee. As if by magic, Jack appeared at the door.

"Whatever's cooking- it smells amazing!" I passed him a mug as he sat at the large dining table.

"I hope you're hungry!" I said as I plated up the food.

"You didn't have to do all this!"

"I wanted to! I like taking care of people- I was actually gonna be a children's nurse until the band got serious." I joined him at the table as I spoke. I watched him finish the food, then I washed up. As I was putting the last dish away, I felt Jack come up behind me and lace his hand around my waist. He rested his head atop mine, and I leant back into his chest.

"Thank you."

I turned around so that we were face to face, "My pleasure. After everything you've done for us- for me these past few days, I haven't even begun repaying you and the guys-"

Jack snapped away from me as we heard the front door being unlocked. He leant against the island in the centre of the kitchen and I made it look as though I was busy cleaning.

"Hey, Barakat! You here?" The familiar voice carried throughout the house.

"Kitchen!"

Alex walked in, whistling what sounded like Dear, Maria.

"Oh, Kaitlyn! I didn't realise you were still here?" He looked a little suspicious, so I thought up the best excuse I could.

"Oh, yeah. It was really late when we'd finished tidying up, so I crashed on the couch-" I pulled the hem of Jack's shirt a little, "This was the closest thing I could find to pyjamas!"

"Aw, you could've taken my bed!"

"It's fine, honestly. If I'd realised you were coming I would've made more food-"

"I've already eaten, actually." He walked over to the coffee pot, "But I'll take some coffee!"

"Do you wanna come inside whilst I get ready?"

Jack had driven me home after Alex had sorted out what he wanted. I was going to shower and change, then head back to his house for a little acoustic session.

"Sure- it beats sitting out here alone."

We got out of the car and I led him up to my apartment. Sam wasn't home, so I grabbed the spare key from under the doormat. Not safe, I know- but I rarely remembered my keys if I wasn't the last one to leave.

"Make yourself at home, I won't be too long."

I went and freshened up, and we headed back to Jack's.
