It's Gonna Be My Year

Chapter 6

I was right. I never should've said yes. My head was pounding and it was far too hot in the club. But, then again, I was at a party with All Time Low! The grimace on my face was quickly replaced with a huge smile.

"What're you so happy about?" I was snapped out of my daze by Alex and Jack bringing over the next round of drinks.

"I'm at a fucking party with my favourite band. And not just because I'm stalking them!" Jack laughed and placed a beer in my hand.

"I was gonna get you champagne- but you seem like more of a beer girl to me." He winked at me and I nodded, sipping my drink.

"I'm not fucking classy enough for champagne!" I placed the drink on the table in the centre of the circular booth we had all claimed.

"So..." Alex started, "Tell me more."

"About?"

"You, the guys, anything."

"Okay, um... We all met in high school, and the band was formed when we were in 10th Grade- other than Ben who's a year younger. Joe's the only one getting laid!" We both laughed, and carried on talking for a little while.

"Come on, let me get a picture of you two." I smiled and pulled out my camera. The two boys smiled for me.

They both looked amazing, and scrubbed up well. Alex had a little bow tie on and Jack had a tie. After the photo, two women came striding over arm in arm.

"Oh, Kaitlyn! These are two of the 'All Time Low girls' as we like to call them!" Alex stood up to introduce me to them, even though I didn't need to be told. They were Cassadee and Lisa- Rian's girlfriend and Alex's fiancé.

They joined us in the booth, soon followed by the rest of Rebound and All Time Low.

"Guys- Spin the bottle!" Ben exclaimed, downing his beer and placing the bottle in the centre of the table.

"What? Seriously Ben?" I let out a fake sigh and looked around everyone sat at the booth.

Between us we decided that we'd all take part, but didn't have to kiss who it landed on- depending who it was.

"Okay, who first?" Ben was way too excited about this.

"I'll go!" Alex raised his hand.

Everyone simultaneously said "oooo" as the bottle span. As if by fate, it landed on Lisa. They obviously went through with the kiss.

Jack laughed, "BORING!"

"Joe, I dare you to go next!" I smiled, pointing at one of my best friends.

"Fine!" He span the bottle and it just nudged past Rian, and landed on Sam. I burst out laughing and we all cheered them on.

"KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS!"

"Ah, fuck it!" Sam exclaimed. They lent over the table towards each other, and got the kiss over with.

Joe sat back down and took a drink. "I think I need therapy now..."

As if on cue Jack (badly) burst into song, "Give me therapy, I'm a walking- Ow!" He was interrupted by Zack hitting him around the head.

"You're making our ears bleed!" He laughed. Jack faked a frown and we all laughed at him.

"Okay, okay! Me next!" I launched the glass bottle round and watched everyone carefully as it slowed down.

"YES!" It had landed on Jack, and he was obviously excited.

"Fuck off, mate!" Why did I just turn him down? God, I'm an idiot.

Alex smiled, "Fine, I'll do it!"

He grabbed both sides of Jack's face and smacked their lips together. I'd spent years watching 'Jalex' moments online, and I'd now witnessed one in person.

"Well, that's enough gayness for me! I have to pee." I stood up and swiftly walked from the table. The truth was, I felt like shit. My head felt as though it was caving in, and the room was starting to spin. I ran for the fire exit, closed it behind me and sat by the building.

I heard it re-open, but simply assumed it was staff.

"Kaitlyn?" I immediately recognised the voice as the man I just saw kiss his best friend- the man who should've kissed me.

"I'm fine. J-just go back inside and enjoy yourself."

"I'm not leaving you until you tell me what's wrong."

"It's just my head. I'll be fine... Go!"

He came and stood above me, and lifted me up by my waist.

"Needed some air?"

I sighed and nodded. I unwillingly rested my head on his shoulder, and we stood embracing one another for a few moments.

He held me at arm's length, "Come with me, I've got the perfect place."
