Walking along the corridor that led to the dungeons, Lilith couldn't help the shiver that ran down her back. It caused her to pull the thick, slightly worn-out jacket she was wearing tighter around her small frame. She then cradled the deep green parcel close to her chest, hoping that'd protect her throat from the cold breeze that'd sometimes drift throughout the hallway. She had no clue why the Slytherin common room had to be located in the freezing dungeons, but she was beginning to curse whoever thought it was a good idea.
It was dark and humid, the only light coming from the torches hanging on the stone walls. The small girl let out a deep breath, the warm air coming out of her mouth as mist, as she walked along the stone floor, her steps echoing through the corridor.
When Lilith finally arrived at the entrance of the Slytherin common room, the view that awaited her made her stop on her tracks, her mouth opening in disbelief. Theodore Nott sat on the floor with his back against the stone wall, his shoulders slumped and his eyes closed, the occasional rise and fall of his shoulders being the only indicator that he was alive. Careful to not startle him —as much as she enjoyed his reactions when she did so—, Lilith walked up to him before crouching down to his eye level, watching his almost peaceful face. The frown between his eyebrows made the ginger knit hers in confusion, wondering what could be causing her friend so much distress that it was visible even when he was sleeping.
Touching his shoulder gently, she lightly shook his body. "Wake up, Theo."
Whining softly, the boy gingerly opened his eyes, taking in everything around him before he finally came to his senses and attempted to jump up to his feet. He would've been successful if Lilith hadn't been right next to him. So instead of doing it gracefully, he headbutted the girl which caused them both to fall on the cold floor, writhing in pain.
"Bloody hell," Theodore grumbled between clenched teeth, holding his head with both hands.
"You could say that again," Lilith moaned out, rubbing her forehead, feeling the skin there beginning to get warm. "You sure have a big head."
The boy rolled his eyes at her comment as he stood up, nevertheless he offered her a hand to which she gladly accepted. With his help, she jumped off the floor and then went to grab the parcel that had landed a little far away from them. She dusted it off, all the while noticing his sharp hazel eyes that followed her movements, not missing the way they widened in surprise when they landed on the present.
"What's that?" He arched a dark-coloured eyebrow in interest as he straightened his clothes, which consisted of bone-coloured corduroy pants and a flannel shirt paired with a black sleeveless pullover.
