It was late at night, and Lilith sat on the couch in the dimly lit common room, watching Harry pace back and forth in front of the flickering fire, his face set with determination and worry.
"Sit down already, Harry," she groaned. "You're making me dizzy."
He stopped, running a hand through his already messy hair. "I can't, Lily. Every time I sit, I just... picture Snape down there right now, getting past Fluffy and every other trap. We're running out of time."
Lilith bit her lip, glancing toward the empty staircase, hoping no one else would come down and catch them. "I know. But we have to wait for Ron and Hermione."
Harry sat down next to her with a sigh, his leg jiggling up and down nervously as he looked at the fire. "Right... I just wish they could get here faster."
Just then, Hermione and Ron came down the stairs, each carrying a bundle of supplies they'd quickly grabbed from their own dorms. Hermione looked around the room, her face tense. "Are we really doing this?"
"We have to," Harry replied, his voice steady. "If we don't try to protect the Stone, then Voldemort might actually get it."
Ron winced at the name but nodded. "If we're gonna do this, let's do it right. What's the plan?"
Lilith faced them with a serious look in her eyes. "First, we need to get to the trapdoor without being caught."
Harry paused, then reached into his saddlebag and pulled out the shimmering folds of the Invisibility Cloak. Lilith's eyes widened as she recognised it.
"Harry!" she whispered in surprise. "I thought we lost that at the Astronomy Tower after we left it there! How did you...?"
He glanced at the cloak with a half-smile, as if he, too, found its return a bit of a mystery. "It just... showed up under my pillow the night after we went to the Forbidden Forest," he explained. "I thought Dumbledore might have had something to do with it, but either way, it's ours again. I figured it'd come in handy tonight."
Lilith's mind raced, feeling a strange mix of relief and unease. Dumbledore might have known what they were up to all along. "That's... convenient," she murmured, trying not to think too hard about what it might mean.
Ron grinned at the sight of the cloak. "Well, thank Merlin for that bit of luck. This'll make getting there a lot easier."
Hermione nodded in agreement, looking between them. "With the cloak, we can slip past Filch and any prefects on patrol. We'll get to the trapdoor without anyone seeing us."
