"Do you know which house do you want to be sorted to?" the blond boy asked, to which the Potter twins shrugged, not really caring about what he had asked.
Unbeknownst to them, the tall boy that sat next to them was discretely peeking from his book, an attempt to hear their conversation unnoticed.
"I already know which house I'm going to be in," blondie— Lilith decided to call him that, since she didn't know his name— smirked smugly.
"Which one?" Harry asked, resisting the urge to roll his eyes.
"Slytherin." With that word, Lilith's eyes narrowed in sudden realisation while the quiet boy rolled his.
Harry, on the other hand, simply raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
"Slytherin?" Lilith asked as she narrowed her eyes at the smirking boy in front of them, recognising his features. "Are you perhaps a Malfoy?"
The pale child was about to open his mouth to respond, but was interrupted.
"Why Slytherin?" Harry suddenly commented, his eyebrow still raised. "Isn't it the most boring house?" he drawled out, crossing his arms over his chest. Lilith smirked under her hand, eager to see the other boy's reaction to her brother's mocking.
"Boring?" Blondie repeated, his tone incredulous with such an accusation. "Boring, you say? Do you not know the famous wizards that came out of Slytherin?"
"Oh really?" Harry laughed, glancing at Lilith with a humorous glint in his green eyes. "Please, do enlighten me."
The blond boy scoffed, before his face light up and he smirked once again. "Like You-Know-Who."
Lilith immediately felt her blood boil. She wanted to slap that smirk off his face, but instead opted to narrow her eyes at the boy as she gave him a warning, "Careful, you might sound like a fan."
Blondie, who she was certain was a Malfoy, sat up straighter, gulping slightly. But, apparently, that wasn't enough to shake off the annoying smirk. "Or what?" he challenged, his light-coloured eyes blazing.
"Don't," the unknown boy sitting next to them cautioned, making everyone look at him since he hadn't spoken a word until that moment.
"Oh, you want to talk now, Nott?" he scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he gave the hazel-eyed boy a glare. "Go back to reading your book, this doesn't concern you."
Nott shook his head, closing the book after marking the page he was reading and, just as he was about to retort, a stern voice came from outside of the building, startling everyone.
