It was quite shocking that Potter's dramatic fall off his broom was what finally caused Draco to ditch his stupid arm bandage. Though the Hufflepuff victory and Potter's injury hype was short-lived as everyone's attention was now focused onto the next upcoming Hogsmeade trip.

The winter break and the holidays were approaching soon and what better way to celebrate them than host another Hogsmeade trip just a week before they start?

I wasn't at all looking forward to going back home for the winter break as I knew I'd be shut in the Levesque Manor during the entire time and have no one to entertain me but my useless brother. Sure, I enjoy his company at times but while I'm at Hogwarts, I want to steer away from him as much as I can; furthermore his pranks these days are getting quite out-of-hand and having to endure them at home when no one's there to taste his wrath but me? Yeah, I wanted none of it.

It was as if my prayers had been answered as one fine morning, my owl, Asa, had dropped in during the mail time and had a letter from my mother strapped to her leg. It read:

Dear Yn Levesque,
As you're already aware, your winter holidays are approaching soon and I wanted to kindly tell you that due to Sirius Black's prison break, I will be unable to provide any safety to either you to your brother back in our Manor.
Furthermore, due to my demanding job as the Minister's secretary, I already have my hands full so I think it's best if you and your brother just stay in the school for the time being.
Happy Holidays,
Elizabeth Levesque

I scoffed at her short letter, it made me very sour. I had high hopes for this week but the letter just dwindled it all. Do you know how embarrassing it is to be the only Slytherin that didn't go home for the holidays?

Yes, I didn't want to go home at all but it was only after I received her letter did I realise how homesick I really was. I missed my mother and her warm hugs. I missed spending the holidays with one of the few people that I truly trusted.

'Yn, are you alright?' said Daph, who was looking at me with her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

'Of course I am!' I lied straight through my teeth. I didn't want to concern her with my neglecting mother, 'what makes you think that?'

'Well... you slumped immediately after receiving that letter--who's it from?
'Oh it's nothing to worry about! Just my mother, don't worry...' I reassured her with a smile.

'Now, if you all would excuse me... I have to find my brother,' I announced to my friends. Blaise, Quinn and Daph all gave me their goodbyes but Draco just scoffed and didn't say much, he then proceeded to join his fanclub. It's obvious that he isn't particularly fond of my brother who takes any chances he gets to annoy the poor Slytherin.

Reluctantly, I made my way towards the Gryffindor table and in the process of doing so, earned nasty glares from some of the girls of that house. Soon, I was standing right behind Timmy--he hadn't noticed me yet as he was busy conversing with Lee Jordan.

'Brother dearest!' I called.
He was startled as he turned around and saw me; with his mouth full of pancakes he said: 'sister! What brings you here to my humble abode?'
'Did you get mother's letter?'
'Hmm? Oh yeah. I'm glad that she's letting us stay if I had to stay in that bloody mansion for an entire month, I would've gone crazy.'

'So you're happy about staying?'
'You're not? I mean--I'd chose Hogwarts over that house and mother any day.'
'Do you not miss mother?'
'Why should I? The old hag never cared for us neither did that old man.'

The mention of our father made me tense up. It wasn't like me and Tim to casually talk about our parents like this. I think it's been 4 years since we even saw him. In my mind, he's just a blurry memory. To me, I'd always get uncomfortable talking about either of them whereas Tim would always scoff and get moody--he harboured deep hatred for our parents, our dad in particular made him want to punch walls.
