'Saint Potter always taking someone else's spotlight. I can't believe he had the audacity to steal Diggory's moment! Cedric Diggory of all people! He's so self-centered,' exclaimed Daph while she poured some syrup on her pancake on a fine Sunday morning.

'For once, I agree with you Greengrass. First he takes our house cup, then the quidditch cup and now Diggory's championship,' said Draco.

'You lot are acting like he broke into your houses and stole all of your money,' said Blaise with a shrug.

'He might as well. Slytherin's been losing the house cup because of him for the past 3 years. It's literally the same!' I reply.

'And here I thought you'd be on Saint Potter's side,' Draco says.

''Course not. He's such an attention seeker. For once, even I think he put himself in on purpose,' I reply as I take a bite of my breakfast. 'I'm glad no one believes him and actually sees him for what he truly is--an absolute git.'

'I agree!' exclaims Daph, 'poor Ceddy having to share the spotlight with that freak.'

'Oi, which of you both are good at charms?' Draco asks suddenly, looking between me and Daph. 'I want to make a badge for which I need help with...'

Smirks find their way onto all of our faces and for the first time, even Blaise is intrigued.

During care of magical creatures, Draco and I decided to pay Potter a visit at Hagrid's hut--we were also accompanied by Crabbe & Goyle but my conversations with them were kept at a minimum. Potter looked as distressed as ever. Maybe the bloke finally realised that he can't handle such a tournament?

'Look Levesque, it's the champion,' Draco says. 'Darling, do you have your autograph book? Better get a signature before it's too late. I doubt he's gonna be around much longer. Half the champions have died.' He turned to Potter, How long do you reckon you're going to last? I say less than 10 minutes in the first task, but Levesque disagrees, she says you wouldn't last 5...'

But, before we could get a reaction out of Potter, Hagrid came from his hut and carrying large skrewts--apparently the beasts had grown. To the our horror, Hagrid proceeded to explain that each student has to fix a leash on a skrewt and take it for a short walk.

The creatures were so disgusting and as we all wrapped leashes onto them, Draco couldn't help but gag and stare at it in disgust. 'Take this out for a walk? I'd rather enter the tournament myself,' he grumbled as he fixed his rope onto it.

I had to agree since the creatures weren't at all pretty. Not to mention that they didn't even have any important use so they were just... there.

'I can't believe that oaf is making us do this! It's labour,' he said as we began to walk. I would've done anything to be with anyone else right now but Blaise & Daph were nowhere to be found and I hadn't seen Quinn all morning--that reminds me, where is that bloke?

'I wish I'd gotten him fired last year...' he continued to rant and it was only when Draco shut up and looked at me curiously did I realise that I hadn't heard a single thing he said since my head was somewhere in the clouds.

'Levesque? Are you listening to any word I said?' he asked.
'No sorry--what were you saying?' I said, keeping my eyes firmly on my skrewt even though it was disgusting to look at.

'Are you feeling well?' he asked suddenly, making me look at him with a bewildered expression.
'Of course I am, what makes you think I'm not?'
'I don't know, you just seem... lost.'
'In what context?'
'Dunno. Guess it was just me.'

And with that, we fall into an awkward silence. None of us bothering to say anything while desperately wishing the other could start a conversation.

Luckily, I didn't have to endure the awkwardness any longer as my eyes found the familiar brown hair and lanky figure of Quinton Todd.
