'You guys won't believe it!' exclaimed Draco as he entered the Slytherin common room, trailed by Crabbe and Goyle. 'Father's sent me a letter, the giant's chicken is going to be executed!' he announced.

Then, some of the Slytherin students surrounded him and started asking him questions about the entire execution. 'Wish I would've gotten that oaf fired too but Dumbledore had to step in,' he continued.

'What a prick,' mumbled Daph as she finished her charms essay.
'Tell me about it, he could win an Oscar for this,' said I.

'Honestly, did that scratch even hurt that much?' asked Quinn.
'I was there and it didn't,' I replied, 'Hermione and her friends have been working tirelessly for the hippogriff, I wish he'd show some compassion.'
'It's Malfoy, he wouldn't show compassion even if you held him at gunpoint...' said Quinn.

'You lot seem too upset,' began Draco as he walked closer to us, 'had an emotional attachment to the chicken or what?'
'You're such a git, Malfoy!' shouted Quinn, angrily.

'Didn't know you had a soft spot for it?' retorted Draco but his words only seemed to make Quinn angrier to the point where Quinn had grabbed Draco by his collar and was staring at him with a murderous intent.
'M-my father will hear about this... I'll make sure to get you expelled, Todd,' threatened Draco but Quinn didn't budge.

'Oh yeah? At least I'll beat you up before I get to do so-!' said Quinn as he balled up his fist and attempted to punch him.

'Aren't you going to stop them?' asked Daph, looking rather concerned over the two boys.
'No... I'll let them have their fun...' I replied, turning my attention back to my DADA work.

Ultimately, Quinn didn't get the opportunity to lay a finger on the Slytherin Prince because as he was about to punch him, he was held back by our headboy who complained to Snape and gave him detention. Wish, he'd gotten at least one punch in, though.

Care for magical creatures classes went just as well as you'd expect them to: Hagrid was continuously mourning over his hippogriff while the three Gryffindors were comforting him all around. Draco couldn't stand it all and managed to cause another scene:

'Have you ever seen anything quite as pathetic?' insulted Draco as he watched the entire class from afar, '--and he's suppose to be our teacher!'

I had to admit, Hagrid can be quite extra at times but he's just trying his best and he might also lose an animal dear to him so it's only natural that he cries over it. Draco's honestly such a prick at times.

From the other side of the lawn, Quinn and I watched the trio approach Draco who was insulting Hagrid with Crabbe and Goyle. Weasley and Potter both  had their wands out but Hermione rushed towards him and slapped him.

Hermione had slapped Draco on the face.

Both Quinn and I were wide-eyed; we couldn't believe what we had just saw.

'Don't you dare call Hagrid pathetic. You foul-- you evil--!' Hermione began as Draco and his goons scrambled on their feet and disappeared into the passageway into the dungeons. I can't believe Hermione managed to do something Quinn had been longing to do since we first got here.

'I like her so much...' mumbled Quinn as he dreamily stared at the girl.

After the fiasco with Hermione, Draco didn't turn up for the charms class which was expected since he was probably complaining to a teacher about it or something. Afterwards, he did show up divinition which was the only class in which Quinn wasn't near me. Moreover, Daph and Blaise didn't take this so I was stuck sitting next to the platinum blonde.

Apparently, today we'd be starting the crystal ball as Trewlawney had placed a crystal ball in all of our tables. The professor then went on to explain how and what we might see in our crystal balls and instructed us to gaze into the ball and inform her of what we might encounter.
