After that horrible fight with Draco, I rushed out of the table where he sat to go to the larger ones where punch was being served, hoping to catch a glimpse of my date. Eventually, I found him near one of the large bowls that were filled with the grape juice.

'Vicky-- hi!' I greeted but then cringing at the nickname.
'Vicky?' he laughed.
'What? You don't like it?' I ask.
'No, it's cute,' he gave me a shy smile.

He poured two glasses, the liquid shimmering a delicate shade of crimson in the soft candlelight. As he handed me a glass, our fingers brushed briefly, sending a spark of awareness through me. With our drinks in hand, we moved to a quieter corner, the hum of conversation and music a gentle backdrop to our shared moment.

'To the Yule Ball,' Victor toasted, his gaze meeting mine over the rim of his glass.
I clinked my glass against his, a smile playing at my lips, 'to the Yule Ball.'

The punch was a delightful blend of flavours, a refreshing contrast to the lively energy that filled the room. As we sipped our drinks, we engaged in a leisurely conversation, our words flowing effortlessly. We talked about the enchanting decorations, the lively dance floor, and the magical atmosphere that had swept over Hogwarts.

'The decorations are truly remarkable,' I commented, taking in the intricate ice sculptures and enchanted snowflakes that adorned the hall.

He nodded in agreement, his gaze thoughtful, 'they have captured the spirit of the season.'

'Is this your first Ball, [Name]?' he asked suddenly, curiosity in his eyes.

I nodded, a smile on my lips, 'yes, it is. And I must say, it's even more magical than I thought.'

Victor's lips curved into a small smile, 'I am glad you're enjoying yourself.'

As the music continued to play, and the laughter of fellow students echoed around us, I completely forgot about Draco and his sour mood.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Granger happily dancing away with Weasley while Quinn was in a corner of the hall, with Lavigne and they were kissing. A smirk found its way onto my face, I didn't even have to do much for the both of them and I'm glad they were together.
On the other side of the hall were Blaise and Daph, both happily dancing away to the loud music of The Weird Sisters. Seeing all my friends enjoy this night with their partners made me want to dance too.

'Victor, wanna dance?' I ask with hope in my eyes.
'Gladly,' he said as he placed his glass back on the table and giving me his hand to take.

Taking his hand, we moved onto the dance floor, surrounded by other couples who were swaying and twirling with carefree abandon.

Victor's movements were fluid and easy, his steps a reflection of his natural grace. As we danced, there was a sense of camaraderie between us, making me forget completely about the previous hatred and anger I felt.

As the song played on, Victor's hand found mine, and we spun in a carefree circle, laughter bubbling up between us. The formalities of the evening seemed to melt, replaced by the genuine enjoyment of the present moment.

'You're quite the dancer,' I teased, a smile on my lips.

He grinned, his eyes alight with amusement, 'I've had my share of practice.'

As we danced, we talked and laughed, our words flowing as freely as our movements. I didn't think about Draco at all, it was all just about Victor and Victor, only.

As the song and night drew to a close, Krum pulled me into a gentle twirl, our laughter echoing in the air. The dance had been a simple yet profound moment, making me feel genuinely happy
