Yn Levesque and her brother, Timothee Levesque's summer went like this:
First, once Timothee found out that the quidditch world cup would be held near London, he went insane and was practically begging their mother to take them there. And, once he received a letter from his best friends, Fred and George Weasley that they'd be attending the match, Timmy couldn't take it anymore and was on his knees to go the world cup.
Whereas Yn, on the other hand, had no love for the sport at all and would've preferred to spend her entire summer indoors but then, she received a letter from her close friend, Draco Malfoy:
Dear Yn Elizabeth Levesque,
How are the holidays going? Pretty tedious, I suppose? Father told me not to send this letter but I did not want to miss an opportunity to boast, especially to you.
The Minister--Cornelius Fudge, himself-- has invited father and I to watch the Quidditch World Cup. It's the first time England's ever hosting it and the tickets are hard to find so the Minister was happy enough to invite us. No one else was given this opportunity but the Malfoy family.
Did I mention that he gave us three tickets? One for mother, father and I but mother doesn't want to go--says quidditch is mediocre when our country's not playing so, I wanted to invite you to join us with this extra ticket. Not your git brother, just you.
I know your mother isn't the one for such activities especially with the state of the Wizarding World right now but let me know. I'll try to convince your mother from my end too.
Hoping to see you there,
Malfoy, Draco.
But, their mother, Elizabeth Levesque denied their requests. No matter how much hatred she had towards the Weasleys or the love and adoration for the Malfoys, she didn't budge at all. Even though she was well-aware that her children would be under the protection of Lucius Malfoy and Arthur Weasley, respectively, she didn't let them.
So, Yn and Timothee both had to send letters apologising to both families about their state, informing them that they won't be attending due to their strict mother.
'It's far too dangerous. I mean, Sirius Black hasn't been caught yet and who knows? He might even bring some of his death eater friends along too--' was what she had said but the two siblings knew that was crap and that she was probably hiding something since the woman seemed way too stressed. I mean, their mother is always stressed but now it seemed like too much.
Speaking of secrets, the Levesque family had too many secrets and it pained both Yn and Timothee to get their heads around it. For starters, their mother had said that the entire Wright family died in the first wizarding war but then they found out that no such family even existed and it horrified them.
Which is what lead them to forget about their mother's unfairness and think about their mother's mystery (though, Timmy was still salty about their mother going to the matches but not them.)
The two siblings searched their large manor up and down for any trace of their mother's past but to no avail. They didn't even find anything regarding their father's side of the family and it was really frustrating.
Eventually, two weeks into their summer holiday, the siblings gave up on trying to convince their mother to go to the quidditch world cup and to find any information about her as well.
So now, the siblings would spend their days perched over their desks, completing their homework and the nights, they'd be lying on their couch, watching muggle movies until their eyes bled.
First, they started with The Fly, Back To The Future, Terminator, Dead Ringers, Die Hard, etc...
Then, it happened.
One peaceful Monday morning, Yn Levesque was woken up by her brother barging into her room:
'Oi! Yn! Wake up! Wake up sleepy head, it's time for sch--' was what he said when he practically broke down her room's door and frightened her.
'What is it? Can't you see that I'm sleeping-?!' she groaned as she rubbed her eyes and sat upright on her bed to properly understand why her brother would torture her so early in the morning.
'It's lucky we didn't go to the world cup 'cause look--' he said, pushing the newspaper into his sister's face.
'I can't read--what its say?' yawned the younger Levesque.
'Terror at the quidditch world cup! Apparently after a quidditch match, death eaters spawned on the place and started attacking the visitors. There's was also someone who made the dark mark on the sky... see! See!?' he pointed to the large moving picture on the Daily Prophet which appeared to be a large skull in the sky with a snake coming out of its mouth.
'Okay-? You were the one who wanted to go in the first place,' she said as she plopped herself down back onto her bed and pulled her blanket back up, 'go to bed, Timmy.'
'Are you not scared? I mean, it's his mark, for the first time in fourteen years--'
'I don't care about wizarding politics! So what if someone painted his mark on the sky? What's it gotta do with me?' complained the younger sibling. Her words offended her older brother, whose face slumped down and he seemed rather upset at her harsh words.
'But... your friends were there...' he said.
'Only Malfoy and I hope the death eaters get him,' said Yn but then she paused momentarily. It was if puzzles pieces were assembling into a big picture in her brain when she realised what her brother's words implied. Immediately, she sat herself on her bed and put a reassuring hand onto her brother's back.
'It's about the Weasleys, isn't it?' she said softly--a major contrast to her previous harsh tone.
Slowly, her brother nodded.
Then, she pulled him into a hug, 'Timmy, don't worry. They're the Weasleys, they'll probably be okay. Especially Fredrick and George.'
'I hope so...' mumbled her older brother as he slowly hugged his little sister back.
Soon after, a horrifying thought was placed onto her head, what had happened to Draco? Was he okay? She started to internally panic over Draco--she didn't know what she'd do with herself if she had lost him. Sure, they had their ups and downs but after realising that this attack implied the loss of Draco, it made her heart ache. He was very important to her. And, only after this did she feel a fraction of her brother's pain.
Their remaining days of summer were much filled with continuous feelings of panic and nervousness . Two days after the announcement of their attack did the two siblings owl post to all of their friends. Yn was the first who hurriedly scribbled a letter to Draco Malfoy asking him of his well-being.
Followed by Timothee, who sent their family owl, Shara to the Weasley house, having dedicated around three letters for the Weasley family members that he was acquainted with.
Soon after, Timothee got a letter back from the family, all reassuring him of their wellbeing which made Timmy's summer a little better but for Yn? She got not a single letter from him. Yn received multitudes of letters from each of her friends but never did she get any from Draco and that increased her worry.
The siblings were feeling opposite emotions throughout the remainder of their holidays: Timmy was gladly owling all of his friends, expressing his concern for them whereas the youngest Levesque was downright terrified of what had become of her friend.
The days went on and on, and she never got a reply back from Draco--it affected her mood tremendously as when their mother took them to Diagon Alley, (which is one of Yn's favourite thing to do--explore the place and look at all the thing she'll never buy) Yn had no heart to do anything there as she missed Draco quite a lot.
But, there was some optimism to her misery as the days were passing by rather quickly now and soon, she'll be returning to Hogwarts where she would see if Draco's fate was set in stone or not and, if the git just didn't reply to her for the sake of it, she'd definitely be giving him a piece of her mind.
