[Y/n's PoV]

My breath hitched in my throat as I locked eyes with the Raiden Shogun. A storm of conflicting feelings swirled through my heart.

The two of us stood still, facing each other for what felt like eternity— neither willing to speak first. The tension hung in the air, the silence only broken by the sounds from outside the garden. However, the fact that we were in the same place at the same time felt too much like a coincidence. There was no way this couldn't be anything short of fate.

"So, we meet again, old foe. You have been sealed for more than five hundred years, yet I have not forgotten you. I do not know how you were freed, but I'm curious to know your reason for being here. Is it another one of your revenge that you seek?"

"...."

Great, just my luck... I still haven't regain all my strength let alone being able to transform myself into my Thunderbird form, and now she's here.

Getting into a fight with her right now might be a little risky, but... something is quite off about her...

I couldn't sense any recognizable aura that I once have felt during my battle with her centuries from the past. Even when analyzing her expression right now, it's nothing but kind of... empty.

"...Why so surprised?" Her tone felt like mockery that I started to get irritated.

The unexpected sight caused me to stay in my place as a myriad of thoughts and emotions took me over.

After a long moment of silence, my throat got dry, and only one single sentence came out.

"I haven't even interacted with more than ten people and the face that I get to see right now is... You."

I looked at her in disdain.

"Oh? What were you expecting?" The Shogun starts walking around me, as if scrutinizing me in every detail.

"You look a little different from what I have remembered..."

She then raised a brow, "Is that so? Then tell me... How were you envisioning I would look?"

"Weak. As always." I smirked at her mockingly as if to taunt her and to my surprise, she seemed to be getting annoyed by it and folded her arms.

"I hope you haven't forgotten who is the stronger fighter between us. I sealed you for a reason. Well, maybe I should just seal you once again..."

She points her polearm at me.

"Pfft, you just got lucky that time since my thinking back then was purely out of emotion, and was not thinking logically." I shrugged.

"...Your words are amusing. It is good that you've become a bit stronger, but you remain but a speck compared to me. I could defeat you in a mere flash if I wanted to. But... Why would I waste my time with a mere speck of dust?"

The Shogun turned around and walks away slowly, as if to ignore me.

I just clicked my tongue but heave a sigh before smirking and go towards the opposite direction.

"Ignore me if you will, but I'm gonna have a look around to this... Island of yours... "

I could hear her snort from behind.

"Do as you please. I have no concerns about your activities."

"Oh? Then you don't mind if I'll cause a little trouble to your homeland?~"

"As if you can do anything... You, who was once a proud Thunderbird, reduced to a feeble human. What could you possibly do to a nation ruled by a goddess?"

The Shogun cackles with scorn that made me stopped on my tracks and turned around to face her back.

"There is a difference between demoting a god to a human and a god taking an identity as a human. Haven't you heard of blending in?"

I asked that made her puzzled for a moment and then smiled and laughed.

"Your words are interesting, little speck. Very well. I shall watch over your actions. I will not interfere in your efforts though I shall simply watch with amusement."

She tilted her head sideway before she continues walking.

"I don't need a stalker, shadow."

"...And I don't need a pest. But I'm giving you a chance to show me if the Thunderbird has fully lost her fighting instincts or not. If you wish to try and cause me any trouble, be my guest. I'll see what you are really capable of."

I couldn't help but to narrowed my eyes and clenched my jaw while I watch her walk away.
