— CHAPTER NINETEEN
❝YOU'RE NOT THAT BAD.❞— HARMONY —
IM LAYING on my couch at 12am, watching Harry Potter the chamber of secrets whilst secretly drifting off to sleep, when my door bell rings.
I'm a little scared because it's late and I have no friends over here so who the hell is at my door? I know damn well Aaliyah didn't catch a secret flight to surprise me so who is it?
Hesitantly I creep over to the door, making sure I grab the lamp that's in my living room, just in case. You never know when you need to defend yourself.
I approach the door slowly. Really should of got a peep hole or a ring doorbell so I can see who's at my door.
I open the door with one hand whilst the other firmly grips the lamp. I crack the door open ever so slightly to see who's on the other end. I relax when I realise it's Jude.
"What are you doing?" He asks as the door opens wider to reveal me with a lamp in my hand.
"It's 12am, I live alone and my door knocks. Was I meant to just let the possible murderer kill me?" I ask with now crossed arms.
He chuckles to himself, looking down at his hands that are shoved into his pockets.
"Right and your first idea of a weapon was a lamp? Not a knife?" He asks me
"Well....no." I look down at my feet.
"Classic Harmony." He says as if he knows me which he really doesn't. At all.
"What are you even doing here?"
"I couldn't sleep. Thought I'd ask you if you wanted to go for a drive." He shrugs.
"Sorry? You what?" I'm shocked.
"That's against the first rule." I highlight
"I think we can relax the first rule a little don't you think?" He quizzes
"I think it's smart that we start forming some type of friendship so this agreement can run smoother."
"Not like I didn't say that before." My voice sarcastic.
"Yes, but it's only now that I've realised I can stand you for longer periods of time. You're not that bad." He shrugs.
"Oh, I'm not. Wow thanks!" I smile sarcastically. I want to kill him.
"So, you wanna come?" He asks me.
I sigh. What's the harm in a little late night drive. I love them in all honesty.
"Sure." I shrug.
"Let me just go get my stuff." I tell him and he nods. I go back inside pulling a hoodie over myself and grabbing my keys for my apartment.
I'm out in no longer than 5 minutes. We walk to the car, getting in simultaneously.
"So do you usually go on drives when you can't sleep?" I ask as he pulls away from my apartment.
