— CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN
❝CAME TO CONFESS?❞

AALIYAH'S eyes widen as I recount the entirety of the last three days to her. She can't believe it. Any of it. She's as shocked at Jude's accusations as I was when he first accused me.

"If I was in Germany the way I'd punch that man." She states.

I laugh a little. I miss her. Wish she was here with me right now. So I wouldn't feel so lonely.

"But who would of done this shit?" She asks. All night I've been trying to put the pieces together. If there's one thing I won't have. It's being blamed for something I didn't do. I will clear my name.

"I did some research into the article. Found out that the source came to the paper a few nights ago." I inform.

"Okay. So....one of his friends then?" Aaliyah asks

"The source was someone currently in Germany. None of his friends are over here except his teammates" I shrug reading the article over and over again.

I don't know how to find out any extra information. I'm sure Michael's already on it. In fact he assured me he'd look for the real culprit because he doesn't believe Jude's claims. Thank god someone has sense.

"I'm gonna contact the article. Threaten to sue them if they don't reveal who told them." I decide

"I can help. I do work in a law firm after all. I can read up on what you can legally do and say and all your rights and stuff. See if we can get it removed in the process." Aaliyah smiles hopefully.

"Thanks Leah. I couldn't do this without you." I'm so grateful to her.

"You're my sister! Don't even worry about it. We'll prove your innocence so that silly man can get it into his stupid head and fuck off." She rolls her eyes annoyed.

A silence ensues as we get to work. I'm going back and forth talking to the article writers whilst Aaliyah is on the phone with one of her superiors/ mentors at her company about what my best legal moves are.

"You sure it ain't that Chloe girl?" Aaliyah asks with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm sure. She's the sweetest she wouldn't do that. Plus she's known all this time. Why only say something now?" I say.

Aaliyah nods considering my point. "True."

About a few hours later we are done with everything. Finally the source is revealed to me. No luck on getting the article taken down though. I'll leave that to Michael. Hopefully they can write a retraction statement.

"No fucking way!" I gasp as I read the latest message.

"What? Did you find out who it was?" Aaliyah asks me.

"Yep." My mouth is agape. It makes sense and isn't really that shocking. But still. The nerve.

"Well? Who was it?!" Aaliyah asks eagerly

"That fucking guy from the club. The one I punched. He pretended to be a close source of mine and Jude's and made up a blatant lie. Obviously his ego was hurt from me punching him and Jude threatening to get him kicked out of everywhere he could ever go." I reveal.
