"GIRL NO!" Aaliyah shouts over the phone. I already have a headache so I turn my volume down a little so she can go at Jude as much as she wants but my head doesn't suffer from it.

"That's all he did? Apologise with some nice words and a few sorry's and shit?" She asks

"Yeah." I shrug

"And how do you feel after this apology?" She does air quotes. Showing that she doesn't think Jude's apology was substantial.

"I...don't know." I don't. I was happy to know he at least doesn't think of me as some gossiper. That he knows who I am. And I was glad he apologised. But words still hurt. And what he said can't be erased.

"I understand where he was coming from in terms of not trusting. But not trusting me was where he fucked up." I say.

"Agreed." Aaliyah replies.

"He needs a big apology. He needs an action to show you that he really is as sorry as he says." Aaliyah states.

"I mean...I agree." I laugh

"He better buy you a birkin or some shit because mate, if I was getting screamed at like that and then you come to apologise with your tail between your legs. I'm gonna need a Dior bag a Birkin and some Louis." She jokes and I laugh. She's insane but always so real.

"I don't think I want any of that man's guilt gifts." I roll my eyes with a laugh.

"And this is why we're so different. Girl I'd take those gifts and make him buy me spares so I have two of each!" She snaps her fingers

I chuckle. "Material girl." I jokingly sing

"That's right." I can tell she's smirking without even having to see her face.

"So, what now?" She questions after the jokes are all over.

"Now? Im just keeping my distance. It's a lot. I just need some time away to think and reset." I explain.

"Yeah that'll do you good." Aaliyah agrees.

"Did that paper retract their article ?" Aaliyah asks.

"Yep. And they wrote a statement apologising and confirming it was all false narratives. They wrote about the guy who gave them the source saying he was bitter because he got into an altercation with Jude." I laugh as I remember the newly written article. Serves that man right.

"Brilliant." Leah comments

"Nothing us black barbies can't do." She jokes

"Agreed!" I laugh
