*Ethan's POV*
Let me tell you about my mother.
My mother is exactly the type of woman this pack needs.
She's kind, nurturing, fearless, loyal, and well, she's a complete badass.
She took out 6 wolves on her own tonight, and just finished up applying to our injured wolves with my sister while Kai, Onix and I searched the grounds.
She came out of that entire thing with a measly 3 scratches. Honestly, she's more pissed that she broke a claw.
But me, I'm not scared to admit I'm hurting, so as soon as I got up to my room, I lifted my shirt, and the entire left side of my body is clawed so deep, it hasn't even begun healing.
Other than Rhiannon and my mom, who are exhausted after listening to grown men scream, there is only one person who can help.
I made my way down the hall to my dad's office and just listened for a minute.
"I can assure you, this will never happen again. I've been working tooth and nail to set up a meeting with you." I heard Orian.
"I think we can make that happen, but tonight, we should tend to our packs. May I ask about your Beta?"
"As of tomorrow, he will no longer be a Beta."
I knocked and slid the door open.
"Ethan. Is everything alright." My dad looked up at me.
"I'm sorry to interrupt. But I don't want to bother mom or Rhi, after everything they just saw." I shook my head.
"What's going on?" He raised his eyebrows.
I sighed and lifted my shirt and slightly pulled my shorts down to show the extent. "It's not doing very well on its own. And it's really deep."
"Oh my god." Orian shot up.
"Jesus Christ Ethan." My dad walked around his desk. "Why didn't you call for help." He started checking the tenderness.
"I just now noticed it. And I didn't need help. I had one of his wolves, and I had Kai and Onix. They're both fine. I took the brunt."
He sighed. "Come here." He reached into one of his cupboards. "It's deep but it's minor. This is what I've been using when I get hurt at work."
"Is this the one I made?" I raised my eyebrows.
He nodded. "I've been testing it on minor stuff and it's been working great."
I let out a sigh of relief.
Thank god.
"What is it?" Orian came and watched as my dad spread this mixture across.
"It's a healing agent that Ethan's been working on. His plan is to one day create a strong enough mixture to speed along the healing process for wolves who were injured. Right now, this is just taking away the pain, but he's getting there." My dad nodded.
"Really?" He raised his eyebrows.
"It's a work in progress." I nodded. "Rhiannon helps a lot."
"You both are very smart." He nodded. "I will let you tend to your boy Owen. We'll talk soon, how about Thursday. Would you and your family like to join us for dinner? My wife Emiline, she asked me to invite you."
"We will be there. We have a lot to discuss. Please, make sure you stop down at the green house."
"Thank you Owen."
