*Ethan's POV*
Let me tell you what, the SCREAMS that Juliet and Sable scrumpt when Major let the words 'my mate' come out of his mouth could've been heard all the way on my grounds.
But tonight, I am not on my grounds.
I am at the Carr house because after the events of today, Frazier asked me to spend the night.
And after what I just put her through, I have no place to say the word no to her at the moment.
So after the longest possible dinner, Alpha Orian pulling me outside to show me how they run the outskirts of their grounds, giving me the longest apology on the face of the earth for yesterday, I am now laying in bed with Frazier, waking up at 2:30 in the morning to her getting out of bed.
"Where are you going?" I groaned and sat up.
"I'm going to the basement." She slid shorts on.
"For?" I scrunched my face.
"Listen."
I wiped my face and tapped in to my hearing, and all I heard was heavy pounding from the basement and Cyrus mumbling.
And I have this feeling I know why.
"Baby." I rolled out of bed. "Can you let me take this one?" I grabbed my underwear off her floor and slid them on before my shorts.
"Why?" She shook her head.
"Because something tells me overbearing little sister wont help. Please?"
She sighed. "Fine, but I want to know what's wrong."
"If he's fine with me telling you sure, but I won't betray your brothers trust." I shook my head, picked her up, and set her back in bed. "I love you." I leaned down and kissed her.
"I love you too fluff." She tucked herself back in.
I wiped more of the sleep out of my eyes as I walked out of her room, to see their dad doing the same thing.
"I just set Harlow back to bed." He yawned and stretched. "I'll be back."
"Actually, can you let me?"
"You want to deal with Cyrus, beating the hell out of his heavy bag?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah, that sounds bad. But yes." I nodded. "Just, he and I have been talking more, and I feel like I could get him to talk about it."
He nodded. "Go ahead."
I yawned and made my way down both flights of stairs.
With how hard he's hitting this thing, I'm very surprise that the bag hasn't come off the rig yet.
"What do you want?" Another swing.
"I was thinking maybe you'd want to go for a run? Maybe just a walk?"
He stopped swinging and looked at his apple watch. "At 2:30 in the morning?"
I nodded. "Figured that would be better than your nosy ass sister listening from up stairs."
'Asshole.' I heard her in the back of my mind.
"Was that her?" He sighed.
"It was. Calling me an asshole because before I even came down here I told her I wasn't betraying your trust. So, lets go somewhere else, and talk. Please."
He pursed his lips and nodded.
We didn't go for a run, I slid my sneakers and one of his hoodies on, and we just went back to their old tree house and climbed up.
"You alright?" I looked over at him.
"I'm fine."
"Cy, it's almost 3 in the morning, and you woke up everyone."
"Shit." He groaned.
"You know, between, Major and Amity. Finding out about Cobi and Kai, it was, a lot of mate for one day." I nodded.
"It's been a lot of mate in general the last few months." He nodded. "You and Fray. Cobi and Kai. Aine and Onix. Major and Amity. On top of all the damn relationships jus popping the fuck up. Hell, Camden and Rhiannon. Lennox is always benefitting with someone."
"Cyrus it's going to-"
"I am never going to fucking find her." He shook his head.
"Yes you are Cy. It's just, taking time."
"My little sister found her mate before I did Ethan. Harlow is finding out everything she was meant to be, and it's so hard watching them both become these such strong and powerful women, and here I am, waiting, for everything to happen to me. It's fucking killing me knowing that the one thing that will pull me away from someone who had been my sister for 12 years, is out there somewhere. I need to find her so I can get over this fucking thing with Low."
I pursed my lips and nodded. "Have you thought that, maybe Harlow could be-"
"I'd know by now." He sighed. "If she was, we'd know."
"Hey, she's magical. So is Aine, and Onix didn't know until Aine confirmed it."
"It's." He sighed. "Ethan, help me."
I gave him a small smile and pat his back. "I will do what I can. But, I need you to help me."
"With?"
"Figuring out what's going on with Frazier. If she's decided yet?"
He pursed his lips. "I forgot."
"We just, have 2 months left. And, the Halloween party next weekend I'm kind of hoping I'd be going with my accepted mate. I fucking love Halloween."
"I'll figure it out." He nodded.
He and I headed back to his house, made our way up, and there she was, sitting up in bed, arms crossed, eyes glowing. "Well?"
"You realize you trying to wolf it out of me wont work, right?" I shook my head, stripped, and crawled back in to bed.
I pulled her in to me by her waist and kissed her. "Now help me fall back to sleep."
She let out a small laugh, nudged me away, and simply rolled so her back was toward me. "You can fall back to sleep on your own Mr. Secrets."
I sighed. "You're punishing me for being a good friend to your brother?"
"Nope. No punishment. Just, if you want to keep things to yourself, I can keep my 'things' to my self. Goodnight Fluff."
I groaned, and it took me literally an hour to fall back to sleep.
Son of a bitch.
I've got to figure out a way to help Cyrus out.
And he better find a way to fucking help me.
