*Aine's POV*

I don't like making deals.

Nope. Not uh, not one single bit.

But when it comes to my identity and safety I have to.

Right now in our world there's a war.

Dark and Light.

My brother is currently off fighting for peace in the realms with the light army, and I, am in the middle of the woods in sweet Star Lock because my safety is a concern.

But one thing I know is that certain wolves, they don't like fairies. Nope. Not uh, not one single bit.

Which is why when Onix walked in to Everrealm yesterday and the swoosh of gold appeared around him, I was concerned. But nothing about him felt threatening or unsafe. He's very funny, and sweet, and very attractive.

He's not the tallest. Only about 6'3.

Cathal, my brother, he's 6'9. And my dad Aindrias, he's 7'0.

That is one of the few distinct differences between male and female fairies.

My mother and I. 4'9 and 5'2. We're both fully grown.

Right now however, I'm at Everrealm after school texting Harlow about some party this weekend when our bell went off.

And in walks my 6'3 golden eyed wolfy.

"Hello Wolfy." I giggled as he walked up to my counter.

"Good afternoon Tink." He gave me a small smile.

"What can I help you with?" I looked up at him.

"I was wondering if you had a minute to talk?" He pursed his lips.

And then a few girls who were walking around the shop came up to him.

"Hey Onix." One of them smiled.

"Yeah, hi Sam, hi Haleigh. I'm trying to have a conversation with my girl. Can we have a moment please?" He sighed.

"Your girl?" The other raised her eyebrows.

"Yes. My girl. This is Aine. She's my mate. Whom I'm trying to have a conversation with."

I let out a small smile and looked at both girls.

"She's like 12." The other nodded.

"She's 17. Now go, before I call Ethan and tell him you're being disrespectful." He crossed his arms and glared.

They both rolled their eyes and walked away.

"Friends of yours?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Not really but people make questionable decisions. They were one of them." He nodded.

"There were 2." I pursed my lips.

"And it was a very questionable decision that I will never have to make again because I have you." He smiled. "Do you have a minute?"

"My ears are open Wolfy." I let out a small giggle.

His face went soft and his smile widened. "Did you know I was your mate last night?"

"Of course I did." I nodded.

"Why didn't you say anything?" He tilted his head.

"I just wanted to see if you'd figure it out on your own." I smiled.

"Well you already established that I'm a touch stupid." He set his elbows on the counter and leaned down. "Are you, OK, with me being your mate?"

"Our souls aligned." I nodded. "So with time my dear wolfy." I smiled.
