*Amity's POV*
I am waking up in a home.
A home that is not my own.
A home without my father, or my brothers.
I'm away from my coven and residing in a pack of wolves.
And I don't know how to feel about it.
I'm sitting up in this very comfortable bed on this beautiful Wednesday morning, to knocking on my bed room door.
"Amity?" I heard this packs Luna from the other side. "Amity darling, if you're awake, I've made breakfast. Please join us."
I could hear the smile in her voice.
Luna Emiline is a sweet woman. She's very kind, and welcoming, almost as my mother used to be.
I rolled out of bed, checked my phone to see my brothers had blown it up, got dressed, and I headed downstairs to see their family and Ethan sitting around their table with a small little pup smiling at me.
"Hello." I smiled and sat down.
"Good morning." Alpha Orian smiled. "Did you sleep alright?"
"I did, thank you." I nodded.
"Amity is there anything we need to provide for you?" Luna Emiline smiled. "I'm not sure how your diet works."
"Oh no. I'm fine."
"Can I actually ask you a question, about your diet?" Cyrus raised a finger.
Frazier and Harlow both laughed.
"Cyrus is big on other Mythical Creatures." Frazier rolled her eyes.
"Uhm, sure." I nodded.
"Now, I've done a lot research on vampires, but I've never really heard of a woodland diet other than movies and TV. Can you explain how it works?"
"I'm actually curious myself." Alpha Orian nodded.
"Well. It works similar to how it does in TV and movies." I shrugged. "Woodland creatures give us everything we need to survive, but human blood makes us and our abilities stronger. I've never had the heart to hurt a human, so I stick with woodland. I'm the daughter of a high lord so I'm naturally stronger, sort of like Alpha's and their blood lines. I also have never had to worry about threats due to my brothers, but my father still looks after my strength, so he has me use blood bags two to three times a week."
"Is there any certain place we get those to provide you with them?" Orian leaned forward on his elbows.
"Oh I'll grab them when I'm back in the castle. I have emergency ones in my bag just incase, just small doses."
"Wait, can I ask something." Frazier raised her hand.
I nodded.
"Do you have like, powers, like in Twilight?"
I laughed. "Some do, just not to that extent. I can point out fact and fiction similarities if you'd like."
"Please." Her and Harlow nodded.
"Well, we don't sparkle in the sun like in Twilight, and we don't need day light rings like in the Vampire Diaries. Vervain, it's more fatal than anything, it'll more than likely kill you rather than sedate you. Our strength and speed are the same. And some do have special abilities. But also, much like wolves, we can communicate with our coven through a mind link."
"Wait, really?" Cyrus raised his eyebrows.
"Oh yes. Vampires and wolves are very similar."
"Huh." He nodded.
"May I ask a question?"
"Sure." They all smiled.
"What happened, with my brothers?"
"Uhm." Cyrus looked at Ethan.
"Well." Ethan cleared his throat. "We were camping, for my little sisters birthday over the weekend, and your brothers scented out one of our friends. Aine. She's a fairy and my best friends mate. They were being very disrespectful to Frazier, and then they started going for Aine. Myself, Cyrus and-"
"My mate?"
"Yes, Major, defended."
I nodded. "That seems justifiable."
"May I ask you something?" He pursed his lips.
"Sure."
"Why are fairies a vampire delicacy?"
"Their blood." Cyrus nodded.
I pointed at him. "Fairy blood is the sweetest to a vampire. And most fairies, they're very well hidden. Your friend, must have let her guard down, and they scented her. I'm very sorry if they scared her."
"Do we need to worry about Aine, when it comes to your coven?" Harlow pursed her lips.
"Oh no. I will handle that." I nodded.
"How do you expect to handle a whole coven?" Ethan shook his head.
"Oh I have a feeling the same way that one handles a whole pack." Cyrus pointed at Frazier. "Or Rhi. Or that one." He pointed at Harlow. "Especially this one." He pointed at the little girl. "Amity this is Ansley by the way. Our little sister."
"Hello." I gave her a small wave.
Ansley waved at me.
"Majors here." Orian smiled at me.
Then I heard their door open, and he came walking right in to their dining room. "Good morning Carrs. Ethan." He nodded. "Hello." He gave me a small smile.
"Good morning." I smiled.
"Well." He looked at Frazier, Harlow, and Ethan. "It's nice to see that she was not on fire, still in one piece, and her heart is still intact."
"Claws are a different color." Frazier nodded.
"And her face is silky smooth." Harlow smiled.
"OOO, girls night. Lets see the hands." He looked down at me.
I just simply held my hand up and he smiled. "I like the red." He nodded.
I'm a very lucky girl.
My god he is hot.
Gorgeous gray eyes.
Tall and tan, a few tattoos, not nearly as many as me, but his arms.
Lord this boys arms.
I can't stop looking at him.
"Major." Orian reached in to his pocket and handed him a card. "Here is the pack card, get what you need, food, toiletries, décor. It's going to be cottage 7, key is in the mail box, and Cyrus can take it from here."
"Yes Alpha." He nodded and looked at Cyrus.
"Dad." He sighed.
"It's going to be you in a few months." Orian nodded. "Go ahead."
Cyrus nodded. "Please, show Amity the pack grounds, no limits. She has full approval to hunt on the grounds. This is going to be a part of her home, she has freedom to do as she pleases. She is to be treated as part of the pack. And I do not want to see you again for the rest of the week."
"Cy I have-"
"I am covering your border patrol until Monday. You're leaving for her coven tomorrow afternoon, and yes, you will be back Friday and Saturday, but there are more important things for you to focus on." He gave me a small smile. "Get to know each other, spend time together, and make yourself at home Amity. Major, you are dismissed from your duties the remainder of the week."
"I can still-"
"Major." Cyrus shook his head. "Enjoy each other." He gave him a small smile.
These people.
They're kind.
I hope my mate is the same.
