*Onix's POV*
Well, would it have been a fantastic thing to know from the jump?
Yes, the fuck it would.
Not that it would change anything.
Only because if I would've known, I would've been on her like a hawk as soon as I heard the word mate.
Harlow isn't wrong, most wolves don't fuck with fairies.
I am not most wolves.
I don't discriminate. Race, religion, species, sexual orientation. Nothing.
I mean hell, one of my best friends is Indian, the other is Bi-Sexual, and Tony is Jewish.
I'm not about to reject someone because other people don't like what or who they are.
Which is why right now after the shit show that just unfolded, I am walking in to my tent to see her fully dressed in her little dress and her little ballet flats that wrap around her lower legs.
"Aine?"
She gasped, and I'll be damned if this short ass little psycho didn't whip around with a fucking knife in her hand. "Stay away from me!" She screamed.
"Jesus!" I yelled, jumped back and put my hands up in front of me.
"On!" I heard Ethan yell.
"I am fine! Everything is fine!" I yelled. I took a deep breath. "Aine, put the knife down."
"No!"
"I'm not going to fucking hurt you." I shook my head. "I will sit on the bed on my hands if it helps. I just want to talk to you." I sat down and literally tucked my hands underneath me. "Now put the knife down."
She just stared at me, tears pooling in her gorgeous green eyes so much that it's tearing my heart in half right now, and it's because she's scared of me. The last thing I want is for her to be scared of me.
After a few moments, her shoulders finally dropped and she dropped the knife to the ground.
I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you." I nodded. "You really just pulled a fucking knife on me?"
"You're the light." She nodded.
"I'm sorry?"
She sniffled. "You can't have light without darkness." She shook her head.
I shook my head. "Why are you scared of me now? I didn't do anything."
"You're a wolf." She nodded.
"Yes, and you knew that from the beginning. And if you would've told me, that you are a fairy, I would've been able to tell you that it doesn't matter to me what you are. You could be a fucking Opi for all I care. You're my mate, we have a bond, and nothing is going to change that."
"Most wolves don't like fairies."
"I'm not most wolves Aine." I shook my head. "I'm going to break this down for you. I am not a violent person, Ethan chose me as one of his Beta's, because I'm a de-escalator like my dad. I talk, I can talk down an issue better than most people. But that doesn't mean I won't get violent. Especially when it comes to keeping the people I care about, safe. When Frazier was kidnapped, I got violent, because I knew she was hurt, Cyrus was hurt, and it was hurting Ethan. I fought then. I will always fight for their safety. Like I have my whole life for my 3 best friends. Which, Ethan, is Indian. Kai is openly bi-sexual. Tony is Jewish. And when Ethan met Frazier, I met Harlow, who has become one of my very best friends, and she is a witch. I don't discriminate, race, religion, orientation, or species. I don't care that you're a fairy Aine. I care about the person you are. And I promise you, I care about you, so I will do anything to keep you safe. I am not going to hurt you. Ever. I don't think my heart could take is seeing as just watching you cry it's splitting in half. Now, give me a chance to prove that to you. That I have you, always."
