She was moving, saving people from the falling debris that was the ship of the Horizon, an alien race that had forcefully given her a scarab. She honestly never wanted to do what she was doing, she had worked very hard to be a teacher. Yet fate had been cruel to her, gifting her with such powers that she could barely contain deep inside. She was finally able to control her scarab, Ohm Ecs, thanks to the intervention of Jaime Reyes. And she was really grateful for the kid, but she had her life at Palmeras as a teacher. And after everything was said and done, she would like to return to that easy life that she had hoped to have.
"Demonios..." She cursed, her native language seeping out of her tongue. She avoided another debris from hitting her straight on her face, a cold sweat dripping down her neck. She still moved left and right, moving to save the citizens of Palmeras. She ran full force, helping other heroes that were on the ground with her. She never would have thought that she would be working with people like Superman, the Flash, or even Batman. It made her conscious of the situation they were all in at the moment.
But in moments, she saw a woman paralyzed in fear. She didn't wait, her legs screaming at her to reach the woman in time. A heart beat passed, yet she felt slow. She needed to be faster, she could rest after everything was resolved. But her eyes widened in slight fear as she saw debris falling directly towards the woman. She needed to be there, to protect the female from danger. She gritted her teeth, her movements accelerating quite quickly. She didn't know if it was because of the scarab that she had been gifted or her own adrenaline making her faster. But she felt that she was nearing the woman at a faster rate.
"Cuidado-!" She screamed, her throat tightening quite quickly. She tried to think of a way, she was trying. But she couldn't find a way. She was no hero, even if she had been playing to be one right at this moment. Yet, she placed herself mentally in a situation that she could relate to. She was a teacher and the civilians in danger were her students, and as a woman of education it was her responsibility to lead her students down the right path. So she needed to save the woman, she couldn't allow herself to fail.
*CRASH*
Sizzling pain coursed through her entire spine, a silent gasp escaping from her mouth. It burned, the flames that were with the debris colliding straight to her back. She had never felt such pain in her life, only thinking about the life that she wanted. But even with the pain in her back, she smiled behind the mask that the scarab had created for her. She managed to save the woman's life, her eyes looking at the now moving civilian. She had done good, her mind being quite alleviated by the fact that she had managed to accomplish her own goals.
She sighed, her eyes glancing left and right. She needed to make sure that everyone was safe. She may not be a hero, but it was the least she could do for the kid that made her have a second chance. It was then that she felt someone drag her down, her side scraping the dirt and rubble that was around Palmeras. She gritted her teeth, frustration seeping through her. She was about to yell, her cords already exerting the necessary force of a yell. But it was then that her scream stopped before she could utter even the simplest of sounds.
Her eyes looked at the area where she was, a slightly large crater was in the area where she was currently standing. She thought that the debris that she had withstood was the last rubble that was falling in that area, but she had a lot to learn if she couldn't even notice the following rubble. Her eyes looked back, widening slightly as she saw the Dark Knight holding her close to him. She finally was conscious enough to feel, his arms hugging her protectively from the rubble. The thought made her blush behind her yellow mask, her mind hearing the mocking messages of her own scarab.
"Be mindful of your surroundings" She didn't know what to say, her body was not reacting to her wishes. The man helped her stand up, overlooking her for a few seconds before walking away. She was sure that she had a dark purple hue covering her dark skin, and it didn't help that Ohm Ecs kept mocking her through their connection. She groaned quite loudly, her mind interpreting the latest message. She wanted to forget the words that came from her scarab, yet her mind kept going back to them.
She glanced at him, her eyes catching just how confident he looked. His walk possessed confidence, unnerved by the chaos that was all around him. In her eyes, he looked very commanding. The debris didn't even fall near to where the Dark Knight was walking through. She let out a sigh that she didn't know that was being held back, not even her mind registered it. It was amazing looking at him from afar, yet her mind was creating very vivid. She didn't know it the images were because of her mind or the scarab, but she could only keep on blushing even harder than before.
"Wow..." After a few seconds, it was all that she could say. She hoped that her attraction towards the Dark Knight was not only because of a hero complex that she had just formed. She kept her eyes focused on Batman, yet she was brought back to reality when she heard muffled laughs right behind her. She widened her eyes wide, shame coursing through her entire body. She didn't look back, preferring to just start walking elsewhere before facing people that she didn't really know to laugh at her because of her sudden attraction to the Dark Knight. She however did glance at the man in black, her mind trying to have an everlasting image of the Dark Knight. She hoped to see him again, Gotham sounding like quite the city if he operated there constantly.
