She had arrived at the headquarters of the Knights, previously known as the Batcave. She sighed in relief as she was somewhere that she considered safe, no danger around to cause harm to her in any sort of way. Opening the hatch of the vehicle that she had just arrived in, she used the chance to look around. Her eyes narrowed as soon as she saw the place that she now commanded, the computer was on and monitoring various aspects of her wellbeing. And she perfectly knew that she had turned off the machine, which meant that someone had turned it on when she was on her patrol.
"Hello?" She questioned loudly, trying to see if any of the members of the Knights had been the one to turn on the computer. The cowl she had still covered her face, with only the mouth area being shown to the world. Inspiring her suit upon the legendary Dark Knight was something that she knew full well to respect. The blood red bat sign on her chest, the symbol that she was proud to wear. As she neared the computer, she questioned why it was active once more. "Was someone here?" She even thought that she had left it on, that she had forgotten to turn off the computer. But she knew that it was off before she left, Lucius Fox had clearly reminded her that she had to shut it down before she went on her patrol. "No... I am sure that I-"
"Martha?! You're back already!" She turned her face to the side, looking just as her mother walked towards her with a smile on her face. She even saw her father standing behind, a slight serious expression over his face. But thanks to his training, she knew just how to detect many things. And that included the small yet almost unnoticeable upward twitch that his lips made. She even groaned softly as seeing just how much her mother was doting over her. "And in one piece too! A new record, honey?"
"Hilarious, mother" She rolled her eyes at her mother, who just chuckled slightly. Even her father was looking at her with a glint of glee in his eyes. She was about to scoff in response, but her eyes caught something in her father. She narrowed her gaze at him, looking at him with an unnatural focus. She knew that he would never react to her piercing gaze, but she didn't need him to react to it. She was looking over him entirely, and it was then that she found exactly what she had been looking for. A dark red mark over the right side of his chin. "Eh..." She glanced at her mother, her red locks, with slight gray tints, slightly waving because of her aura. She also searched her over, looking that may be out of place. It was easier to read her mother, she would always get slightly uncomfortable when she was the main focus of the discussion. Which was why she hardly cared when her mother began to slightly shake because of her stare. But her eyes were on a mission, one that she was able to accomplish just by looking at the state of her red undershirt that was slightly covered by the green. And it was there and then that she grew a bit sick at what she concurred. "You two are completely sick..."
"I told you she would find out, June" Her father said, a smile finally appearing over his face. She rolled her eyes, walking towards the computer as she heard her mother chuckle slightly at her father's words. She even took off her cowl, revealing the full face of disgust that she currently supported. Martha, who had short black hair with blue eyes, was sure that her stare only made her father smirk even further at her, and it only made her all the more annoyed at her father. She may respect him and hold him in the highest of regards, but he was the man with the biggest ego she knew.
"You trained her too well, Bruce" She just sighed, her body turning towards her parents. Bruce Wayne and June Moone, the Dark Knight who previously went with the alias Batman and the former villainess Enchantress; the ones responsible for her upbringing and the ones who trained her to be the hero that she now was. She would forever be in her parents' debt for helping her become the woman that she now was, but she was also disgusted that the two of them had sex in the headquarters of the Knights. "I still remember just how-"
"Ah! I don't wanna hear it!" She immediately interrupted, which only made her parents chuckle at her. She was more than fine if she didn't have to hear about her parents' activities together. She didn't want to be scared for life, didn't want to have the verbal memory of whatever her mother did with her father. She even turned back to look at the computer, taking advantage that it was online and starting to update the files that were there. Information and knowledge were the best weapon that the Knights had at their disposal. Plus it served as a distraction to whatever her mother was trying to do.
"You'll understand one day, Martha" The short answer that came from her father only made her roll her eyes. She didn't need anyone at this moment. She was more than fine with only having her focus on the criminals of Gotham, more than fine with only being Batwoman. So she ignored her father's words, concentrating on the computer. She was not disrespecting her father, but she really wanted him to forget the topic. "And as soon as you finish, we expect you at the dining table. Terry told me that he was coming to eat with us"
"I... I see..." She tried to control her stutter, thankful for once that she was giving her back to her parents. She cursed in her mind, realizing that her father knew of her attraction towards Terry McGinnis; the young adult that was her father's direct protege to be the latest Batman incarnation. Since her brothers, adoptive, had chosen their own aliases; her father was now training one last disciple to take his mantle. "I'll be there..."
She heard the step that her parents made as they went out of the Knight's hideout. She glanced back, fully seeing that her parents were already out of the hideout. She smiled slightly as she thought of Terry. She could admit that she hated him at first, someone taking what was rightfully hers by birthright. But as she got to get to know him, she noticed that the more they spent together the more she would smile. And that was ignoring the fact that he had asked her out for their college graduation dance, which she accepted. And as she finished her work on the computer, she began to think back on her parents. Two people from different worlds, united by the love that they felt for each other. She didn't know how the two got together nor did she care. She was just happy to know that it was the two of them that were her parents and not someone else.
