"Come close and then even closer"
Harry's POV
It had been a week since Louis last talked to me. After our argument he completely ignored me and shut me out even more. He avoided me, if I came somewhere he already was he would go. But there was one exception, the oak. He never walked away from there if I was in the garden. The tree was his place and no one could take it away from it it seemed like.
It was his place to escape.
I had tried to talk to him but it didn't matter what I said or did he just walked away. I kind of gave up after five days but I couldn't help but notice the small frown Louis now wore. It didn't feel right, nothing felt right without Louis. I couldn't believe how much I depended on him after just a few days.
It was in the middle of the night when I went out to the garden, I was tired but I couldn't sleep. The garden was always available for the people on the home so it wasn't a problem for me to take a short night walk.
But when I came out to the garden I saw a gestalt sitting by the big tree, it was dark outside so I couldn't see who it was but I had a feeling of who it could be. I walked over to the tree and there was indeed Louis, he sat there with his lips in a tight line and his gaze far away.
I settled down beside him and he jumped slightly before he saw it was me and moved further away from me. He continued staring out in nothingness and it looked like he pressed his nails in his palm. His lips was still in a tight line.
"Hi." I whispered after a while and Louis kept ignoring me. I sighed. "Louis, please talk to me."
"What do you want?" he asked his voice quiet and dry. He talked to me! He actually talked to me. Four words but it was a start at leats.
"I want you to talk to me and stop avoiding me." I said.
"Why?"
"Because I want you to be a part of my life and I want to be a part of yours too!" I said and it was true, Louis was stuck on my mind all the time and I just wanted him close. As a friend of course.
I heard Louis huff and I looked into his eyes. The moonlight lit up the night and I could see Louis' perfect face.
"I don't have a life." he said and it was now my turn to huff.
"Of course you have don't be stupid."
He shook his head before he spoke. "I would not call this a life, a life is something you're living and I would not count what I'm doing as living. I'm existing."
I shook my head at him and he glared at me slightly. "It is your life whatever you like it or not. A life doesn't have to be good all the time to be seen as a life. A life is a life no matter what."
"You're wrong, a life has to be good, 'cause if it's not then it isn't worth living and there for not a life." Louis explained and I shook my head at him.
"A life can't be good all the time the bad parts is what makes the good parts good." I then said and Louis sighed.
"But if it's never good and new complications and shitty things keeps appearing, is it a life then Mr Smartass?"
"It can't be only bad. Sometimes if you look beyond the bad things you see the good things."
"But what if the bad things has made it too dark to see the good things and the reson to stay?"
"Then you have to get help to be able to see through the dark."
"But what if you don't want help and if you can't get it."
"You have to try harder."
"If it isn't your fault then and you've already tried."
"You have to try even harder."
"What if no one knows what happened then?"
"You have to tell them."
"What if they already knows but they won't talk to you about it."
"Then...uhm." I couldn't make an answer to that.
"Exactly." Louis said and looked up to the sky. It was starting to lighten up, the sun was on it's way.
We sat in silence for a while longer before I heard Louis sigh.
"Friends?" I asked and he looked at me with doubt in his eyes.
"Whatever." he said and I smiled the biggest smile I could ever manage. We were friends."You have dimples."
