Sita's POV

"Dheeraj, I want to tell you something..."

"Anything, don't hesitate" he sat in his chair

"Someone tried to kill me"

"What?" He shouted

"Yesterday, when I went to kayaking, someone tripped my kayak, I saw a man underneath. He left immediately...I acted as if drowning"

"Did you tell Ben?"

I nodded no

"This is serious Sita...why didn't you tell?"

"I will tell him in few days... he was so happy when I confessed my love, then today's incident with his dad... " I said

"Are you ok?" He asked

"I was so scared Dheeraj... i swam to the shore and hid in bushes... had no idea where I was, what to do but I sure Ben will find me... I was so relieved seeing him... wanted to tell him but seeing his condition I lied that I just played prank..."

"You just made it worse, didn't you" he said smiling

"Hmm, he slapped me" Unconsciously my hand went to my left cheek

"He did what?"

"It's ok, I realized how much he loves me, didn't want to loose him. I confessed my love"

"Thank you Sita... I'm so happy for you both but we have to tell him immediately" he said

"I don't know if I really feel or because I don't like Nisha, I think she is responsible..."

"Why do you think?" He asked

"I told that I don't know swimming, just before that incident...only Ben, Joseph, Nithya Chechi and Nisha were there. It was as if that person knew I don't know swimming... just think, you want to drown a person you don't know... you might think of possibility that the person knowing swimming right... he didn't even wait for me to drown, it was as if he knew for sure that I don't know to swim... Nisha was surprised to see me alive...she hates me, she should have been fuming in anger seeing but she was surprised"

"You are smart... Nisha and her mom are wicked, capable of doing" he said in anger

" I'm happy that you lied and got saved otherwise he might have actually drowned you. Why did you lie?"

"Stupid bet with Santhu... he is best at swimming but I always beat him. One day he made a bet, the person who loose should accept that they don't know swimming, all their life. I was sure to win but that fellow beat me by 10 seconds. Can you imagine that?" I said in anger

Dheeraj smiled "he let you win all the time to make you happy"

"I realized, wicked monster...and who will make such a stupid bet and beat me in humiliating way. I invited my parents and his parents too..." I shook my head shaking my humiliating image. I couldn't bear that he beat me by 10 seconds

"Probably to protect you in future from incidents like this... you are right, he is really overprotective of you"

That thought didn't occur to me, today I'm alive because of that bet otherwise I would have bragged about my swimming
