Slash picked his head up in curiosity to hear Duff's response. "Uhh, yeah, he's here," the tall blonde replied, not moving from the doorway.
She sounded impatient, "Can I talk to him?"
Duff whipped his head around, exchanging a glance with Slash, who returned a bewildered shrug to him. Duff faced Erin again. "Um... No."
"No? Why not?"
"Uhh, he's not feeling too great."
"Oh, is he sick? Can I check on him?"
"He's... Sleeping, hasn't slept in a while, had a fever. And he's, uh, in a mood, I wouldn't if I were you."
Duff glanced back at Slash again and warned him that Axl should probably sit up now being that she's probably going to ignore Duff, who understood that whatever was going on between Slash and Axl, that he probably won't want Erin to catch them in the middle of it.
Slash bit his tongue, he didn't want to have to do this when he finally managed to fall asleep and he was so calm and peaceful. Slash gently nudged Axl's side, who picked his head up with a dazed jolt, "Whuuh..?" He mumbled.
Slash whispered, "Erin's here, sit up for a minute."
Axl furrowed his eyebrows, "Will you.. have to leave?"
Slash shook his head, "No, I'll stay right here, you probably just don't want her to catch you cuddling on my stomach." Axl nodded slowly, sitting up with a yawn.
Slash heard Erin's voice. "I'm his girlfriend, I should be able to see him," she huffed, pushing past Duff before he could reply. Duff mouthed to Slash behind Erin, bitch. Slash smiled ear to ear in amusement, Erin didn't notice.
Duff watched her stalk toward the couch, "Axl are you alright? I haven't heard from you in days, Duff says you're sick are you okay?" Axl seemed to back away from her, shrinking back deeper into the couch as she swarmed him with questions, and she seemingly didn't notice at all that he was uncomfortable and he was acting strange. After a brief moment of silence without Axl's reply, Duff remembered Axl's recent silence and he wondered if he'd say anything at all.
"I'm fine," Axl finally replied. It didn't at all sound like a reassuring reply from a guy to his loving girlfriend. It was colder, more of an irritated lie. He wasn't fine, and he didn't care about upsetting her. But I guess that was Axl, he was never one for being considerate.
But she hardly even seemed to notice the fact that he was being odd and distant and just examined him, "You don't look too feverish, are you feeling better??"
Axl had a confused look and Duff mouthed to him, she thinks you're sick.
Axl just blinked at him then back at her. "Um, yeah." Then Axl almost jumped ten feet into the air when she sat down on the couch right in that little space between Slash and Axl, hardly even noticing that she almost sat right on Slash's leg.
Slash swallowed and Duff could tell he was almost bothered by her as much as he was, and actually, Axl seemed really bothered by her too. Duff was confused, it was his girlfriend, and he didn't look good at all. He looked really tense and anxious and his eyes were doing the odd wide thing again and he kept exchanging nervous glances with Slash over Erin's shoulder.
Erin looked at him, "Are you sure you're okay? I haven't heard from you in days, I was getting worried."
Axl swallowed, "I'm fine," he repeated, this time his voice sounded less fine.
"Are you sure?" She asked, resting her hand on his shoulder, and Duff watched as Axl flinched away from her touch. Erin raised a confused, worried eyebrow at his moving away from her touch, "You seem awfully jumpy, is there something wrong?" she asked.
