Something was really off with Axl.
Duff noticed he's been behaving strange, even more than usual. He was usually outspoken, hostile, reserved, a real bitch, and honestly a slut. But he's been acting really weird in the past two days. And I mean, REALLY weird. He was behaving strange for a normal person, but for Axl Rose? It was REALLY NOT NORMAL.
Yesterday Slash carried him home, and Axl was a shaky mess and he wouldn't even show his face. He just hid behind Slash's mane of curls. It was so unlike him. Duff and the guys had exchanged confused looks, and none of them could ask Slash what the hell happened, because since they came back, Axl refused to go anywhere if Slash wasn't right there.
He'd latch onto him and Duff wouldn't see him let go for the rest of the day, they were practically joint at the hip. Duff didn't even know if Slash had a parasite voluntarily or Axl attached himself onto him like a leech sucking his blood against his will. If that was what happened, poor Slash is gonna have no way to escape unless Axl lets go.
But Duff was fairly certain that Slash was the host of this parasite on his own accord, because he didn't seem to care at all. And if he did, he didn't have even the slightest bit of annoyance or irritation, if anything he looked worried. Hell I would be too, Duff thought. But whether Slash was worried why Axl had attached himself to him or if it was because he was worried for him, Duff hadn't a single clue. If it were the second one, it might even be Slash who encouraged Axl to cling to him like a baby koala to its mother.
But Duff or any of the other guys never had any opportunity to ask what the fuck was going on, because Axl seemingly couldn't be apart from him for one minute. When they asked something casually, the most Slash would ever say was, Axl's not feeling too hot. Which made Slash Axl's nurse. But Axl didn't look sick. However he was behaving very, very oddly, and Duff wondered if it maybe was a different kind of sick.
Axl didn't have a hostile glare in his eyes, his eyes were ominously wide in an almost intimidating way, but it wasn't a vicious glower like usual, it was more of a wild stare like a mental patient. But he would never say anything, just blink with those wide eyes.
Actually, come to think of it, Duff couldn't remember Axl saying a single word in the past two days. If anybody asked him anything, he either wouldn't reply, Slash would for him, or just nod or shake his head.
Which was very strange because usually it was the exact opposite. Any time anybody has ever talked to the band, Slash hardly says a word, because Axl is usually right on his shoulder and talks for him. Slash never minded, he was kinda shy around certain people anyway, but now Axl seemed to be hiding behind him.
And Duff had no idea why.
His body language was off too. He would normally sprawl himself out on the entire couch like a little bitch so nobody else can sit there, or sit with loose shoulders and legs far apart, and if anybody were next to him he might have his arm around them or lean against, or rest his head on them. But he'd just been sitting under Slash's arm in a tiny ball, or with both his arms and his legs crossed over each other.
He seemed more apprehensive, his shoulders usually tensed and at his ears. He seemed very on edge, anxious. He was jumpier than Steven, any time seemingly anything small happened he leaped out of his skin. He was really anxious about something, and normally Axl would keep to himself and hardly show his anxiety. But it was very obvious he was on edge.
Every so often Duff thought he actually looked very irritable and frustrated and that he might actually outburst again like how he usually did.
But he didn't.
