Darry is the one I would go to after a nightmare if I was one of the Curtis siblings. Not because he's particularly good at comforting you — he really isn't — but because his arms feel like the safest place on earth. He doesn't have to actively do anything to comfort you, because just being held by him is enough. He does make an effort to try and soothe you by telling you everything's alright, that it was just a dream, you're safe, but what really does the trick is him wrapping you up in his arms and holding you until you've calmed down and fall back asleep with your head on his chest.

Sodapop is very good at comforting people, we all know that, and thanks to Pony he also has lots of experience with comforting someone after they had a nightmare specifically. He'll hold you as tight as you need, talking in hushed tones or softly humming to you, and before you know it you're already back asleep.

Ponyboy isn't used to being the one to comfort you, so if he somehow ends up being the one stuck dealing with you having a nightmare he'll feel very helpless at first. The more upset you are, the more he initially panics. He pulls you into a tight hug, rocking you back and forth while he frantically tries to think of what Soda would do in his stead. That way he manages pretty well. It also helps that Pony is good with words and easily finds just the right thing to say to calm you down.

There's nothing Johnny hates more than seeing you upset, no matter for what reason, and nightmares are especially bad because he has to worry about your parents waking up from your crying and getting mad. He shushes you as gently as he can and tries to offer whatever comfort he can by holding you tight and whispering promises that everything's okay and you're safe, even though both of you know that as long as you live under your parents roof safety is a relative term.

Dallas stares at you. And stares at you. And stares at you, before finally holding out his arms to wordlessly offer a hug. He holds you as he lets you cry against his chest, or talk about the nightmare, or whatever it is you need to do to make you feel better, all the while awkwardly patting your back and repeating that you're okay.

I feel like Two-Bit is hard to wake up. And even once he's "awake" he's actually still half-asleep, so he takes a little longer to process what's going on. As soon as he's realized you had a nightmare, though, he instantly sees to comforting you. I'm talking one second he's squinting at you in confusing with heavy eyelids, asking what's up, the next you're wrapped in his arms as he rocks you back and forth, already trying to think of something he can say to make you laugh.

Steve isn't the best with stuff like that, but with how much time he spends with Soda he's definitely picked up a thing or two from him and will put those to use in hopes of comforting you. He's a little awkward, but eventually manages to get you back to sleep with a hug and lots of reassuring words.
