Darry rarely has time for something like that anymore, even though he does enjoy it. Before your parents died he actually did it once in a while, just cuddling up on the couch with you and Pony when it was rainy or storming outside, and taking turns reading to each other. Soda always joined too, but quickly got bored and started fidgeting around the room until you threw him out. Nowadays Darry might make himself take the time to read a little to you if you're sick or had a nightmare and really beg him to do it, but it's more likely he'll just tell you to ask Pony. Let me add that if you want him to relax a little after a day of working way too hard reading to him is the way. Jump on his lap with your book the second he sits down and do not let him get up. Please, he needs that.

Sodapop isn't really the best at reading, but if you insist he'll do it for you. Just be prepared for him to constantly change the position he's sitting in and/or start pacing or even jumping around the room during exciting chapters because our boy cannot sit still.

Ponyboy absolutely loves reading to you! He'll do it whenever you want, no questions asked. He also enjoys being read to, but actually prefers when he's the one doing the reading.

Johnny prefers being read to, but he doesn't mind reading to you if you really want him to. He has a bit of a tendency to interrupt himself to share his thoughts about the story, but the upside of that is that he doesn't mind when you interrupt him either.

The only way Dallas will ever read to you or let you read to him is over his cold dead body... or so he says. In truth it's not unusual for you to sit beside him with a book in hand when he's too hungover to go out, or in the dead of night when neither of you can fall asleep. He loves when you read to him. Getting him to read to you really is close to impossible, though.

Two-Bit absolutely won't. He doesn't like reading out loud at all. He would love reading some comics together with you, though, and somehow the both of you always finish reading a page at the exact same time.

Steve doesn't really like reading, but he occasionally lets you talk him into it. He's really picky, though, and absolutely refuses to read something he doesn't like to you. He definitely has stopped reading to you mid-chapter on multiple occasions and told you to either pick a different book or read for yourself because he didn't like the story.
