{Pref.} When You Get Your First Boyfriend/Girlfriend

Info: Platonic. Sibling!reader. Y/N is younger than them in this, except in Pony's case, he's still the youngest.

Unless it's one of the gang Darry is not taking it well. And even then he'd be a little wary. As much as he tries to tell himself not to worry so much and that you're more than capable of deciding for yourself who's good for you, he just can't help being overprotective. Definitely tries to talk you out of starting to date your crush in the first place because he's so scared you'll get your heart broken. When that inevitably fails he will want to meet the person asap if it's not someone he knows already, and he will threaten to kill them if they hurt you.

Sodapop is 80% excited for you and 20% worried because weren't you just an itsy bitsy baby only yesterday??, but he leaves the being overprotective to Darry because God knows he's doing it enough for both of them. Which does not mean Soda won't keep a close eye on your partner too, he definitely will, but he does it in his own way and is very friendly with them.

Ponyboy doesn't really get involved, but if anything gives him even the slightest idea your new partner isn't treating you as well as you deserve, you can bet he's telling Darry, and he will ask to help when he goes kick their ass.

Johnny is pretty chill about it. If he doesn't know the person yet he'll obviously want to meet them, but more in a 'I wanna know who it is you're so in love with'-way than in a sceptical way. Make no mistake though, he's just as protective as the others, and pays very close attention to everything your partner does and says when he meets them to ensure he can trust them with you. If he gets even the slightest feeling that something is off, he'll get Dally for backup and have a very thorough talk with them, if you know what I mean.

With Dallas there's two possible scenarios and I can't decide which one is more likely. Either he outwardly acts indifferent but watches your partner like a hawk whenever he sees you together (and low-key stalks you — he's just looking out for you, okay?!), or he outright doesn't allow it. I'm talking "You're not allowed to date anyone until you're 21 and I will kill anyone who dares to ask you out" type of shit, because you're his precious little baby sibling and no one on this whole planet could possibly be good enough for you. And no, he doesn't care if the person you want to date is one of the gang, it simply ain't happening. No matter which of these two options it is, the person you like better be on their best behavior when Dally's around, or he might make them disappear altogether.

Two-Bit is less relaxed about it than you might think (unless it's one of the gang, in that case he knows you're in good hands). He's not overprotective per se, but upon first meeting them he will do a bit of an interrogation and give them a very detailed description of what would happen to them if they were to hurt you in any way, shape, or form. If that first meeting goes well he'll likely become friends with them soon, and invite the both of you to watch Mickey Mouse with him whenever they're around.

Steve doesn't really worry about it, he trusts you to be able to take care of yourself and only date someone who's good enough for you, but he gives them the 'If you hurt my sibling I will literally kill you'-talk nonetheless just to be sure.
