Steve's POV
We were surrounded by Herobrine's men.
The five of us all stood back to back facing out into the trees, me and Ryan were holding our swords, Alex was aiming her bow, Veronica was cracking her knuckles and Lyra was holding a splash potion. Suddenly about twenty soldiers jumped at us. I slashed at as many of them as possible, they were working for Herobrine. And Herobrine deserved a little... Misfortune if you ask me. I killed one and turned, Ryan was fighting four at a time, their weapons sparking on his iron layer of skin. Veronica was breaking arms, legs and necks all around. Lyra was throwing invisibility at her feet and sneaking behind the confused enemy. Alex dodged a diamond sword which grazed her ear, she stood back upright and shot an arrow right through the soldier's head and into another's back. I jumped and cut right through another soldier's side. We were putting up a pretty intense fight, then a huge explosion from the ground below us shot the HTL and the soldiers into the air. I flew and went headfirst through leaves of trees and slammed down on grass. I heard pained groans and turned my head slightly to the right. Alex was lying a short distance away, holding a long scar stretching from her wrist to elbow, and her head looked like it went a mile, directly into stone. I rolled onto my stomach struggling to stay conscious,
"A-Alex..." I coughed out before it all faded.
. . .
I woke up but didn't open my eyes. My head was hurting so much I was surprised it didn't take hearts away. Opening my eyes slowly I sat up groggily and looked around the best I could with my blurry vision. By what I'd seen so far, I was in a prison cell, A plate of steak on the floor by the bars, I had lost my gear and was unarmed, eating the steak fixed me up a bit,
"Hello?" I called out,
"Steve?" It was Alex, she seemed to be down the hallway or something,
"Alex?"
"Veronica?"
"Lyra?"
"Ryan?" We were all here? Surely they would have separated us in case we did something mischievous.
"Where are we?" Asked Lyra,
"No idea, seems to be somewhere underground." Said Ryan,
"The nether!" I didn't expect Veronica to say it but it snapped me back to full health. Something told me Herobrine had complete control over this realm, and he could probably blast this entire hall to bits right at this second! But it stayed as silent as ever. It seemed as if we were in a stronghold of some sort. I looked around the small cell and saw a vent in the corner, pulling the iron bars off I got onto my hands and knees and crawled. I came to two roads and took an automatic left. I was looking through another set of bars at two pairs of legs.
"You shouldn't have returned. Wi." Said the voice I recognised as Herobrine's,
"I come to fight by your side, Master..." Said a deep rattly voice.
"I said never to use me by that name again." Said Herobrine,
"I am sorry Hero, shall you consider my offer Hero?" Asked Wi.
"Yes, now get back to the depths of your beloved soul sand." Said Herobrine, and the darker pair of legs vanished in a cloud of black smoke. Herobrine turned and left my sights, not pausing to think of what I heard I kicked down the iron bars and crawled into the hallway. I saw Herobrine with his back turned at the other end, he placed a button and opened an iron door and stepped inside he room concealed behind it. I followed and after stepping through and crouching securely behind a mass of chests I observed Herobrine's actions.
He was viewing security cameras. I saw the camera of the prison hallway in the top left corner of all the little screens, heck I saw Verinica standing at the bars of her cell in the top right corner. Luckily Herobrine ignored this and said into a headset:
"Set route to the Oasis of Notch, I repeat set route to the Oasis of Notch." He said grinning. He then left the office through a door that branched off in a different direction. When the door was securely shut and Herobrine's footsteps were no longer heard I jumped from behind the chest and sat at the desk. I looked at all the knobs and buttons. I pressed the button that clearly stated to open the cells I then ran back into the prison hall and saw the other four members of the HTL. Then I saw how Veronica knew we were in the nether.
Half of her cell had been blown in allowing her to view out to the lava ocean and netherack islands and cliffs. She could have escaped that way too, if she had a fire resistance potion that is. But when we explored a bit of the fortress we were blessed with a nether portal! Thank Notch for that!
