Alex's POV
After me and Lyra jumped to either side of the door and the men walked out into the hall. We jumped them from behind, suffocating them. Sure they fought back but they were losing breath by the second. They fell to the floor and I followed Lyra into the room. There was nothing but a chair, a desk holding a note. I picked it up and read.
Warriors of Herobrine, the escapists of the nether fortress known as Steve and Abbey have been found and caught. One of the escapers and many of my men died in the struggle to contain these two. Though one of them is under personal observation of myself and heavily guarded. I suspect he has little chance of escaping again. I allow most of my men to return to the overworld and see to the HTL who are searching for Steve, the HTL have been separated according to a reliable source, the HTL member known as Ryan is being taken care of but two of them are still free. Most likely searching for this boy. I recommend tightening security in the underground base. Thank you for reading this message from the nether, have a nice day.
-Herobrine
I couldn't believe it, this was the best lead we've ever had since stepping out of the HTL base, it was pretty much telling us exactly where Steve was! They must have attempted escape, but were caught. I guessed there must have been a battle of some sort. Abbey must have died during it but Steve survived, not without killing a few dozen or so of Herobrine's army. I was proud of him for this reason and I handed the letter to Lyra to read. Her eyes ran all the way down the page, the eyes widening as they travelled. She looked at me and smiled,
"Alex." She muttered,
"Yes?" I asked.
"I think its time for a trip to the nether." I smiled weakly. There must have been a nether portal somewhere in this endless maze! I cracked my knuckles and agreed.
"Yes, I think its long overdue." The quest was finally making sense now. We were sent here to find this note and save Steve and possibly all of Minecraft in the process! That was it, things would never be the same without Herobrine. There would be a final hit that would kill him just like any other creature! We had figured it out! But did we?
"Well, lets go to the depths of hell and get your friend back!" Exclaimed Lyra, even if I thought of Steve as more than a friend I agreed without doubt. I just knew this would all turn out ok! Lyra led me through the other door and down a hallway. There was a glow at the end and when I saw what was making it I shrieked,
Standing in front of me and Lyra was a nether portal!
