"The man you are waiting for would not be coming here today,"Fayza said with a straight face…crossing her legs one over another. A slight smirk could be seen playing at the corner of her lips…giving her the looks of a true devil. "Excuse me?"Andrew could not really understand what this girl was saying out of the blue. And who was she by the way? How did she know him or anything related to him?
"And who are you by the way, young lady? Do you even know that you are talking about my personal issues like that?"Andrew was a bit agitated at the sudden conduct of this unknown girl. First it was Rehan regarding whom Andrew was already frustrated…and now this girl also came to add up to his frustration more.
"Come on, Mr. Edward..who doesn't know you? After all, you are the Andrew Edward, a famous immigration lawyer. As for me, it's not that mandatory to know..still for your satisfaction, I'm Fayza…Fayza Firdaus, the acting CEO of the Fayrin Corporations and the founder of the Zerin Inc,"she introduced herself and saw the man sitting in front of her raising his one eyebrow at her…as if trying to recognize her.
"Do I by any chance know you?"Andrew could not help but ask…he felt as if he heard this name before as well. But where? He could not exactly remember that. "No, not personally tho,"she shook her head denying the fact. "But you can think of me as your well wisher…or your daughter Azel's well wisher to be precise,"Fayza joined both of her indexes together as she looked at Andrew with a more intensified look. Her smirk deepened a little more when she saw the changed expression of his.
"My daughter? What is about her? How do you know my daughter?"The anxiety itself conveyed just how much this man loved his daughter. But then again who didn't do so…except for people like Mr. Rustom who was unfortunately the father of her. Her heart clenched in pain as the harsh reality slapped her once again…even without her doing anything. But she shook her head..after all, it was not the time for her to have a breakdown. She needed to accomplish what she was here today.
"Yeah, I know her. And I know her long time boyfriend Rehan Tyler as well. Me and Rehan…."Before she could finish, Andrew cut her off,"Wait, are you that same girl who was the business partner of Re…I mean Rehan in Oman?"He asked her to confirm as just now he remembered from where he had heard about her.
"Yeah, and we are still business partners. But I guess that's not what is important here,"she corrected him…and tried to dismiss the introduction topic as soon as she could. Anyways she was not interested in exchanging these baseless talks with some total stranger…all she was here for was to save Rehan from the clutches of that cunning Azel. And Andrew Edward was the only person who could do so.
"And how may I help you?"He asked, not understanding what this girl wanted from him. "Azel can not be with Rehan,"she stated plainly as if it was nothing serious at all. Andrew's eyes narrowed at her totally in displeasure,"And who are you to decide that, Ms. Firdaus?"This time his tone was sharp with the hint of anger. Of course he would be angry. After all, who was she to decide with whom his daughter can be or can not be?
"As I said I'm Azel's well wisher. Moreover I would not have to be concerned if you were cautious enough. When you are failing to do your duty as her father so I think as a girl I could not just sit idly and do nothing except for watching her ruin her life with her own hands." Fayza's words were enough to ignite the fire of rage inside Andrew's body. How dare she say that as a father, he was not cautious enough regarding his daughter or her life? How much did she even know them to make such a kind of statement?
Andrew banged on the marble table which shook vigorously along with the glasses and plates that were neatly arranged over it. He was seething in rage…extreme rage. His red angry eyes, flaring nose, gritted teeth, clenched jaw was only screaming one thing…and that was danger,"Who the heck are you to tell me what I should do and what I should not? I know what is good for my daughter. And I definitely don't need you, a stranger preaching me as to which decision would be right for my daughter.
Thank you so much for your concern. You may take your leave now. The door is that way…kindly see yourself out of here,"Andrew pointed his finger towards the door…wanting to chuck this girl out of his sight as soon as he could. Otherwise he, himself didn't know what he would do? He was nowhere near calm right now…his whole body was shaking in fury. He was beyond angry right now.
If anyone would have been there, then they must have fled by now. But Fayza…she was unfazed with everything.
She kept her hand over the plate which was still shaking from the impact of his anger..before matching her eyes with his. Glaring back at him with the same intensity. No one…literally no one has ever dared to speak with her like this before…not even the man who was her namesake father. But today, this Andrew Edward outstraight insulted her on her face. If it was not for Rehan..then she would have surely emptied her gun on this man's chest.
"No matter how much you yell at me or anyone it's not going to change the truth that you don't care about your daughter…not at all. Because if you did then you would have surely done a thorough background check over Rehan and his whole family to know that the person you are going to entrust your daughter with would even remember her in the future or not?"Fayza spoke…making Andrew confused this time because her last words caught ahold of his attention. Why would he not remember Azel in the future? Andrew's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Tch! I think a father is the hero who can sacrifice anything for his daughter and all that stuff looks much better in fairytales than in real life. Because looking at my surroundings I can't conclude the same verdict regarding the matter,"she clicked her tongue with a bored tone.
"I told you I'm not interested in talking with you, Ms. Don't you understand human language? What kind of relationship I share with my daughter it's totally my personal matter. And I'm least bothered to know your perspective regarding father's. I don't know what you had to go through in your life for harboring such bitter feelings…but not every father in the world is the same. Some father's are really like those described in fairytales…I don't know if I'm any of them or not but I can surely sacrifice everything, even my life just to see my daughter happy.
I will do anything to protect my Princess from this cruel world…and by anything I mean anything. So your baseless talks don't really affect me in anyhow. My daughter loves Rehan…so does he. And I, Andrew Edward will do whatever it takes for me to make sure that my daughter will be happy with the love of her life. So, it would be better if you see yourself out right now otherwise I will be compelled to call the guards,"though Andrew was curious earlier but hearing her next sentences regarding the father's, he was not sure to have another conversation with her. She was just bitter from inside…Andrew knew he should not judge someone without even knowing them personally. But then again the girls' time and again allegations were making him think otherwise.
Fayza curled her fingers…balling her fists tightly. She once again took a deep breath to calm down her anger..it was going to take her nowhere. "Okay..okay, I accept my defeat…I'm taking back my words, Mr. Edward,"she gave him a fake smile lifting up her both hands in the air in a surrendering motion. Andrew nodded his head taking a deep breath…after all, that girl was also the same age as his little angel Tune. She was still young and he could not bring his heart to take any kind of harsh steps towards her. Who knows the poor child actually suffered a lot for her to become like this! A sigh escaped his lips as he thought about it.
But his reverie broke, when he heard her say again,"But where is he…about whom you just claimed to love your daughter so much? Should he not be here meeting with you if he really loves Azel that much?" This time Andrew could not speak anything because he also had no clue regarding Rehan's whereabouts.
"Maybe…he is stuck in the traffic?"Andrew, himself was unsure whether he was answering her question or asking her the question. "Stuck in the traffic…for three hours? Isn't it a bit too long?"Fayza raised her eyebrows at him.
"Maybe he got caught up in something urgent…maybe some work at the last minute came up,"he fumbled not even knowing why he was playing this
question-answer round with her at the first place…and secondly why was he defending Rehan with such lame excuses when he was hell angry at Rehan for his such attitude.
"Maybe, Mr. Edward…maybe. Or maybe not. Who knows?"She taunted him with a knowing smirk playing on her lips…looking at the tough man from awhile ago in distress now. "What do you mean?"He asked.
"I already told you that he is not going to come here to meet you. Because if he had to come here, he would have already been here by now,"he opened his mouth to say something but nothing actually came out. Not even a single word…because somewhere in the corner of his heart, Andrew was also feeling the same. "Give as much consolation you want to give to your heart or me..but both you and me know if very well that whatever I'm telling is the truth only. Your future son-in-law Rehan oops I mean the man you want to make as your son-in-law who apparently loves your daughter in your eyes, would not be coming here today,"she repeated her words making him look at her with narrowed eyes,"How did you know so much?"Andrew found himself asking her once again.
Fayza let out a chuckle…a humorless chuckle as if Andrew just cracked the joke of the decade. Before she fixated her eyes on him once again. This time her eyes were looking dark…and dangerous. They seemed too empty for Andrew to figure out what this girl was thinking or going to do.
"Because he doesn't even remember this meeting he was supposed to have with you,"she informed casually as if it was so normal. "What nonsense are you speaking?"Andrew hissed at her. Was she crazy? Why would he not remember the meeting, when this morning only Andrew had called Rehan to personally invite him for lunch.
"You might think that I'm speaking baseless things…but I hope after looking at these, you would not say the same thing to me,"she slid a black file in his direction. "What is this?"He asked once again looking at the file once before looking at her once again. "You will get to know that once you open it,"she once again gestured to him to open the file.
Andrew opened the file as he started reading the papers. The file contained Rehan's medical reports…including his father Riley Tyler and mother Ava Edison's whole biography. From that horrible accident till Rehan's PTSD, day by day which was taking a turn for the worst only.
"Is…is this…"he just could not form any sentence…he was beyond shocked at the moment. "Yes, Mr. Edward…it's all true. If you don't believe me you can get it checked once again. Or it would be better if you ask your daughter-in-law regarding this, as she is Rehan's best friend, she might know everything…and if she doesn't intend to hide it from you more then she will tell you the truth."
"No, I'm sure my Little angel doesn't know anything about all these….otherwise she would never encourage Princess for this relationship. Tune considers Azel her younger sister,"Andrew mumbled in his own accord which Fayza heard.
"It might be the case..but still there is a distinct difference in considering someone a sister and being actually a sister by blood,"she spat venomous words against Tune as well…because after reading Rehan's whole bio-data Fayza got to know about Tune who is the only best friend of Rehan.
It needed no telling how close they were to each other. Though Rehan was not open regarding his love life…yet in one of his interviews he had mentioned that it was actually his best friend for whom he could get the love of his life. If it were not for her, then he doesn't even know what he would have done. He didn't mention who his lover was…but everyone was well aware of his best friend who was Tune.
But with that came another shocking news and that Tune was Azel's sister-in-law. She treated Azel just like her younger sister..and Azel also treated her as her elder sister. They had more of a friendly bond. So, she concluded that Tune must know how Azel was..still she encouraged her which led Azel to cheat on Rehan. And being a best friend, Tune failed to protect Rehan…so she needed to bear the punishment for that.
"How did you manage to gather all these…all of these? Nobody…I mean not many people know about all these. That accident, his late mother, his sickness all these are not even in Rehan's biography. And as much as I know Riley, he is not a fool that he didn't cover for his past. Rather he must have cleaned his background as well,"Andrew looked at the girl with eagle's eyes…not missing out a single detail on anything.
Fayza proudly lifted up her head,"I'm a business woman, Mr. Edward. And in order to keep my control over my empire, I need each and every minutes details of the people surrounding me. Here we are talking about my business partner…how could I take any risk regarding my business for which I have worked my heart and soul. Since I had the information which you didn't have so I thought to share it with you in order to help you getting your daughter out of this mess,"she explained briefly, which didn't satisfy Andrew that much.
"And why are you trying to help me when you don't even know me personally? If Rehan is your business partner, should not you take his side and help him to conceal the truth he has been hiding so cautiously?"He again questioned her. Being a lawyer it was his nature to suspect every stranger in complicated situations like this.
"Yes, Rehan is my partner in business. And I won't lie about the fact that he is an amazing business man. For the last two years since our collaboration all the projects we did together brought us nothing but explicit success. And I will always look forward to working with him even in future.
But all that does not erase the fact that I'm a human..I'm a girl. And when I first met Azel, I found her so innocent…so fragile. I have a younger brother the same age as her…and if I were her elder sister I would have never wanted my sister to destroy her life like this by dating a man who might not remember her the next day of their wedding. Being a girl, I just could not withstand the pain, the heartbreak and the destruction of another girl in front of my own eyes.
Hence, I thought to reach out to you…because telling all these to Azel or your daughter-in-law seemed hopeless to me,"she acted so sad as if she would start crying anytime soon. While her mind screamed in victory looking at the grim expression on the old man's face..who was looking like an erupting volcano.
"As I could not withstand her pain and heartbreak in front of my own eyes…hence I destroyed her with my own hands,"she smirked inwardly…the evil thoughts roaming inside her mind making her laugh at her own achievements.
"Still if you want to proceed with their marriage then it's all upto you and your family. If you want to see your daughter in tears for the rest of her life then I have…."before she could finish Andrew grumbled in anger,"This marriage will never happen. I will not give my daughter's hands to someone like Rehan…never,"with that saying, he stormed out of the restaurant at the speed of light.
