Stubbornness

Hazel, Tune and Hrew smiled through their tears, looking at the sweet reunion. Tune and Hrew were more than happy, and why would they not be? After all, they were the eyewitness of the penance both Azel and Rehan had done…to get to where they were now. Hrew side hugged his wife, who played a major role in bringing the wide smile his sister had on her face. Tune turned her face towards her husband, who always supported her in every decision she took. Both kept looking at each other with nothing but…love. Before Tune offered her breathtaking smile which alone had the power to make Hrew fall for her head over heels…all over again. No matter how much time passed away, his love for her never lessened…not even a bit. While her love for him only kept on increasing. She leaned her head in his warm arms…making him smile beautifully as well. Here both of them were lost into their own little world.
While there, Andrew broke the hug, before shifting his eyes towards another pair of beautiful couples…who seemed so peaceful in each other's company. Their beautiful smiles were proof of their happiness. While the hazel orbs against the black ones were narrating their love story in the most beautiful way possible.
Nobody needed to say it out loud as to how happy Hrew was getting someone like Tune as his life partner. And Andrew felt ashamed of himself yet again, for being the dumbest person alive. How could he be such a cruel jerk to say that she was imperfect for his son? She is absolutely the living example of perfection who accepted his son the way Hrew was. Since the very first day of their marriage, Tune had considered this family as her very own…and each time she had proved it by her actions. Be it standing beside his son in his hardest time, or risking her own life in order to save both Hrew and Azel, or handling the whole family alone when everything was crumbling down into pieces, or fulfilling each of her duties, sometimes becoming a daughter, sometimes a son and sometimes a daughter-in-law. She kept shielding his whole family, binding them with each other…with her immense love and affection. But in return what she got? What did he do as a father? He hurt his daughter..his little angel in the worst way possible.
Hrew had said it right that time, she was indeed too good for such a selfish man like him…who could never appreciate the precious gem. He could never become her father in the true sense. He also wrote his name in the list of the FATHER-IN-LAW's instead of being the Dad he always claimed himself to be. A lone tear escaped his eyes, at his own thoughts. His reverie broke with the soft touch on his shoulder, and he definitely knew who it was. Hazel, his wife, his love, nodded her head at him…encouraging him to take a step forward in order to mend the damaged relationships.
Andrew also nodded her head, before,"Li…little…little angel,"he breathed out, stuttering to even call her. Did he really have the right to address her with that endearment once again? His call drew the attention of all the two young couples present there. And immediately Andrew noticed how fast Hrew's facial expressions changed…from being the soft one to a completely different….totally blank to be precise. But his eyes…his hazel orbs…those became as hard as stone. His grip on Tune's shoulder tightened before he stood in front of her…as if protecting her…from whom? Their own father?
A self ridiculing smile made its way to his lips…was not it natural for Hrew to behave in such a way? Didn't he deserve only this…after what he had done on his part? "Hri?"While both Hazel and Tune whispered in disbelief at Hrew's action. Both of them knew the stubborn yet silent nature this boy harbored. "Hri, please…."Before Tune could say anything, Hrew looked at her tilting his head a bit,"Star, please,"he silenced her with those two mere words only. Although his words came out so firmly..but only Tune saw the helplessness behind the unyielding hazel pair. He was just expecting her support, which she always provided him with.
Tune's eyes released the tears feeling so helpless looking at him who had unshed tears in his eyes. "Hri, please don't be like this, Baby. He…he is your father,"Hazel came forward, cupping Hrew's cheeks. She also could not hold back her tears…her heart was getting crushed in the cold war that was going on between her husband and her son. Hrew also cupped his mother's cheeks,"Please don't cry, momma. I cannot see you in tears,"he spoke as gently as if trying to shush a child.
"Then don't be like this, Hri. Sort things out with your Daddy and come back home. I'm missing all of you. At once you separated me from both my son and daughter. I'm missing my Twinkie so much…please come back home. That house feels so deserted without all of you. You all make that mansion, home. I want my family back, Hri. I want to see all my family members together once again…happy with each other,"Hazel demanded as well as requested Hrew…making him close his eyes. As a son, he could well understand the emotions of his mother. But as a husband, he didn't want to reason with his wife's self respect at any cost.
Hrew slowly kissed his mother's forehead, and she didn't need someone to tell her what that meant. Looking into her eyes, he spoke,"Momma, nobody can separate you from your son or your beloved daughter. We might not be staying at the same place, but our hearts…those are connected with each other's. You can come to meet with Twinkie at any moment and Twinkie will also go to meet with you at any time you want. And in the future as well, our next baby will visit the Edward mansion…I would never restrict any of my kids to meet with their grandparents or go to their paternal house. I don't wish to deprive any of you from your rights. And I will fulfill all my duties as a son, as a brother. I will totally take up all the responsibilities of Princess's wedding…it would not make any difference from what I would have done earlier. In fact, I and Star will start all the preparations from today itself.
But I or Star would not step into that house…ever again, momma. I'm sorry for defying you like this…but I cannot act as if I have forgotten everything. And I will clearly remember each of the words that were spoken to her…always. No matter how many explanations were given…but nothing would ever justify the way she was treated, momma. She didn't even have any fault to face those circumstances. Hence, forgive me for this sin I'm committing by disobeying you,"Hazel sobbed hearing her son. She had nothing more to say after all these. Not when she knew he was right and nobody could budge him from his place. She could not help but nod her head permitting him to go. Hazel didn't want to put him in more dilemma.
Hrew hugged his mother followed by Tune…as both of them took their leave from Azel and Rehan as well. Tune's steps halted in front of Andrew, who was standing at one corner…just like a criminal. He finally lifted his moistened eyes to look at the pure soul he hurt so badly. Both Tune and Andrew opened their mouths to say something to each other…but before that Hrew held Tune's hand,"Star, we are done taking leave from the people who consider you as their own. So, I think we should leave now,"saying Hrew took Tune from there…almost immediately.
Leaving a hurt Andrew behind, Hrew's each word pierced through his heart and soul. But what did he even think? That he would say sorry to Tune, and Hrew would jump into his arms…forgetting all the things? Out of all the people, he should have known it better how good his son was at holding grudges?
Hrew was not amongst those people to lash out on other people who would try to hurt his loved ones…rather he was among those who were too good at making their lives miserable who would even dare to think bad for his people. In this world, if Hrew loved someone crazily…then it was Tune. And he would not tolerate even a tiny scratch on that girl. And there Andrew literally wounded her with uncountable bruises. Andrew knew Hrew would do nothing to hurt him…after all, he was his father. And no matter what happened still Hrew loved his father immensely…after all, which son didn't? But Andrew also knew Hrew would never be the same as he was with him. Maybe, he would never even talk with Andrew ever again. This mere thought sent chills down his spine.
He looked towards Hazel who was shedding her tears in silence…but Andrew could feel her painful screams that was making him feel the most disgusting person alive. "Mom..momma/Ela,"both Azel and Andrew called out to her at the same time. Azel was feeling not any less guilty for everything. Somehow or the other, she was the responsible one for things to become this ugly. If not for her…then his Daddy would have never blamed her Sisila. These thoughts were enough to give her a guilt trip time and again. "It's okay…I'm fine. Don't worry,"Hazel replied wiping her tears. After all, how much would she cry? And what would even happen? Because her tears were not enough to melt hearts now!
"Get well soon, Princess. I will come back to check up on you once again in the evening. I have to go to my office now…so I shall take my leave,"saying Hazel also left the cabin without giving another chance for anyone to speak anymore. "Get well soon, Baby,"Andrew pressed a soft kiss on Azel's forehead while wiping away her tears. He flashed her a weak smile before heading out as well. He knew Hazel was hurt…more than hurt, she was disappointed in him…for whatever he did. And he deserved all these. He truly deserved this punishment of getting ignored like a non-existent human being. He chuckled dryly at his own state. Today, he could see a broken man in the place of the great Andrew Edward…he always flaunted off so much. Till date he thought himself to be a king…walking over the clouds…thinking in the world, he could get anything he wishes for. But life proved him wrong…the worst way possible. Today when his fake ego got crushed down under the heavy tears of his loved ones…he then understood the hardest way that he was no king…rather he was just a defeated soldier, a mere puppet in the hands of fate. Today, he understood how much it could be difficult to even join the puzzles of his broken family together. Today, when the clouds under his feet vanished, he directly landed on his face…making him understand the meaning of the proverb too well 'You should never fly too high…because when you fall down it is going to hurt you like hell'.
But alas! It was too late…to realize, to mend and to get back the things he lost!!!

In Azel's cabin,
Rehan took a step forward to close the door of the room…when suddenly like a gust of wind….two crazy people barged inside, quarreling like kindergarten kids.
"No, I said you would not meet with her,"Diaan stated, firmly.
"Huh…as if I'm going to listen to you. No one orders me around, Anie. And you should know it better till now. I said I will see her…means I WILL SEE HER,"Fayza was also unfazed at her own talks.
"Yeah, how would a brat like you listen to me?"Diaan intentionally provoked her…knowing anger is a permanent tenant on her nose tip. You just need to blow a little and….boom! She would light up just like a FIREBALL.
Fayza's eyes widened at his such audacity,"Did…did you…just…just call me a brat?"She stuttered…this was her problem. She would start fumbling with her words…when she would get too angry at someone. Her entire face turned red in anger, making her look more cute. For a moment, Diaan forgot himself looking at her adorable face…he didn't know how someone could look this innocent even when they were angry as a monster.
But did monsters even get angry? Diaan didn't know the answer of the most illogical question that arose in his mind right at the moment. Was this even a time to think about all these? "Concentrate, Diaan…concentrate,"he mentally glared at himself for being the biggest fool.
"I'm sure I did…and I'm also sure you heard it as well,"the next moment, he gave her a savage feedback. Her mouth hung open…jaw almost touching the ground. Before her eyes narrowed at him…making her small almond shaped eyes even smaller. Her scrutinized gaze didn't set well with him, because he knew something was definitely brewing inside that head of hers. But what?
He could not even comprehend what she was thinking before she jumped into action…making him jump in his spot as well. The vase that was kept on the small coffee table earlier, fell down on the floor making quite a noise. Thank GOD! It was an acrylic one…hence didn't break. And he was a bit careful to dodge it. The next weapon that came flying his way was a magazine. He dodged it as well,"Hey crazy girl! Stop it. You are ruining the decorations of my hospital."
"How dare you call me a brat at first and now crazy? Do I look retarded to you?"She glared at him…for which he gulped his saliva looking at her with fear. She was about to smirk in victory when he nodded his head at her question.
What could anyone do? When Diaan would be Diaan…Fayza also needed to become Fayza, right? "Then look how I'm going to mess up with all these decorations of your hospital,''Fayza once again threw a newspaper at him. "Ouch!"This time Diaan could not save himself, causing the newspaper to land upon his face harshly as it was thrown at him with a great force. "I…I will file a lawsuit against you,"he complained, puckering his lips like a small child.
"Ooh! I'm so scared,"she teased him, acting as if she was really very scared of his threats. "YOU?"Diaan pointed his index at her…in utter frustration. "Yes, me. What?"While she asked him in the same tone, placing both of her hands on the sides of her waist…trying to look like a dangerous lady.
While these two were busy in their cat fight…two curious pairs of eyes were looking at them in utter confusion. Not understanding what was happening? Or why was it happening?
"You just wait, I…."Diaan was about to say something again when Azel's voice interrupted them both,"Why are you both…I mean…how? Like this? What is happening?" Her question made both of them turn their heads towards her.
Fayza's eyes sparkled like stars looking at Azel, while Diaan's face darkened in worry.
She would reveal everything to her now…maybe then she would feel a bit of peace. It was what she thought.
He could not let her know about it yet…not like this at least. He didn't want to add up to Azel's worry anymore. He would have to do something…before Fayza does. He made up his mind.
"Azel, I…ummmm….ummm,"before she could even speak, Diaan covered her mouth with his hand, stopping her from saying anything further. "Az, I'm coming in awhile. I guess I need to call the mental hospital to let them know that one of their patients broke out of their clutches and is roaming freely while damaging my hospital decorations,"Diaan spoke, giving an awkward smile to cover up for the messed up situation.
While Fayza glared at him, for calling her a mental patient. She kept on struggling in his hold to get out of his grip. But she could not do that. Instead, he dragged her away from there, not letting Azel or Rehan to place another question in front of him.
"What was that?"Rehan asked with amused expressions. "I didn't get anything either,"Azel also said, still stunned about everything. Diaan knew Fayza…Fayza knew Diaan. Not only knowing…they seemed more than just knowing each other.
"Who was she? Di's girlfriend? Why didn't he tell me about it? And why didn't you tell me about it? Where is my treat?"Rehan whined like the neighborhood aunties who got the wedding invitation a little late. "Drama queen! How would I tell you when I, myself don't know,"Rehan pouted at Azel's endearment…making her laugh.
"But Di cheated with us, Wild cat. He got a girlfriend and didn't even tell us. Whereas, he wanted all the details about our relationship. I still remember how he had interrogated me to know if I was good enough for you or not?"Rehan laughed, making Azel smile too. "Di had told me that he likes someone..but didn't tell me the name of that girl yet,"Rehan dramatically sighed in relief,"Thank GOD! He got into a relationship. Otherwise I had thought that we need to marry him off forcefully at the age of 60 or over."
But this time, Azel seemed to be in deeper thoughts as she didn't hear him. "Hey, what are you thinking?"Rehan shook her lightly. She snapped out, while looking at him,"Re, this girl, I mean is she really Di's girlfriend?"
"Why? What's wrong with her being his girlfriend?"Rehan didn't understand why she would say something like this. "Actually, she is your business partner. Remember the Oman project? She is the Princess of Oman,"Azel explained…suddenly Rehan remembered that she was actually his business partner Fayza Firdaus. "I had met her at your office. And I don't know why, whenever I meet with her…it is always something weird. Something unpleasant. I..I..mean, I don't know why…but the way she looks at you…it's something different. It's not professional. I..I don't like it, Re,"she expressed what she felt…except for the thing that,"I see the same kind of love in her eyes for you…that I see in your eyes for me,"she didn't say it…not wanting to act too paranoid.
"Hey, silly! I don't care…all I care is for these oceanic blue eyes that look at me with love and adoration. Except for this magnificent pair and this wonderful human being…every other thing is just too bland for me to even notice,"Rehan cupped her cheeks, assuring her that no matter what would happen, he would still be hers only.
Azel smiled warmly,"I love you, Re,"she placed her head on his chest. "I love you too, my silly Princess,"Rehan wrapped her in his warm arms…placing a soft kiss at the crown of her head. With that they immersed into each other's arms just like the waves immersed in the sea.
