Unseen Feud

Two days later,
   "Why is this girl not picking up my calls?"For some unknown reason, Rehan was feeling anxious…calling Azel time and again, who unfortunately was not receiving any of his calls. It's too rare for Azel to not respond to Rehan for such a long time. They had their last talk in the morning before they could head to their own offices…and it was almost lunch time now. Rehan wanted to inform Azel that he would be going to pick her up for lunch…hence he wanted to make sure whether she was busy or not!
   Rehan stood up from his chair, no! He should go check upon her once. Maybe she was too busy with that project she had mentioned once. So, what? If they could not go on the surprise date he planned for her…but he could always have a small lunch date with her, at her office, right? Yeah! That would be the best thing to do. Rehan's lips stretched out in a wide smile, he inwardly praised himself for having such a smart brain.
   He didn't even take a step forward when a knock interrupted him,"Sir, everything is prepared. Ms. Firdaus is already here. As per your instructions I have made them sit in the conference room. Everything is ready for the meeting. And I have also talked with the other company we are going to have a deal with…they said, they will be here in five minutes,"Liam, Rehan's PA informed him…making Rehan frown,"Meeting?"
   "Yes, sir. We have a meeting with the investors as well as with the fashion company regarding the new project. We are going to sign the contract with the…."Before Liam could complete, Rehan cursed under his breath,"Shit! I totally forgot that. What would I do…without you, man?"Rehan looked towards his PA…grateful enough to find such a responsible person as his personal assistant. Liam smiled brightly at the generous gesture of his boss. After all, how many employers would express their gratitude towards their employees like this?
     "Please don't mention it like that. It's my job, sir,"Rehan also offered his stunning smile to Liam,"Okay..okay. You go ahead…I will be joining you guys in two minutes,"he instructed his PA. Liam nodded his head, bolting towards the conference hall.
   Rehan once again darted his attention at his phone…he was about to dial Azel's number, when a message popped up on the screen. "[I'm so sorry, Lunatic. I was a bit busy with the new project. I'm on my way to another meeting…hence unable to call you. Please don't worry…I'm absolutely fine. After this meeting, can you take me for a date🤭? I'm famished as well as tired😩. Your baby is in dire need of your pamperings🤧. I will come to pick you up at lunch hour…do wait for me😘. And there is a surprise waiting for you😉. Hope you will like it😁.
   And…and…and…last but not the least, love you so so much, my Lunatic hubby❤️]*-the not so short message of Azel read. Rehan could not contain his smile just by reading the silly text…sent by his one and only Wild cat.
   All the worry, anxiety and a bit of anger Rehan had for getting ignored by Azel…vanquished into the thin air. This girl always had this magical way to melt him…without even doing much. And why not? When he loved her crazily! So much that just a lovely smile was enough for him to get on his knees for her. And Rehan was quite proud about this fact. After all, she deserved the entire universe…she was the kind of person who indeed should have got all the best things he could offer her! Yet, all she ever wanted from him…was him only. Her all desires started from him…and ended at him as well. He was ready to conquer the world for her…whereas she considered him, her whole world.
   He remembered asking her a question once,"Wild cat, why do you love me so much? You are just so perfect…but look at me. I'm not even near the word perfect. You could get anyone if…."
   "But anyone is not you, Lunatic. The way my eyes look at you…these never wish to see anyone else except you ever. I guess the definition of perfection is quite different for both you and me. Because you are more than perfect for me. The way you consider me perfect for you…in the same way, you are the only perfect person for me. The way you never see my flaws…the same way you are flawless to me. I really don't care what others say or think about you. But your thoughts about yourself matters for me, Re. Hence I dare you to think any rubbish regarding your own self again….and I promise I will make you forget what your so-called perfection even means,"was her reply to him. Though she had threatened him at the last part…yet he only noticed the love she harbored for him. Nobody could ever love him…like she loves him. Nor could he ever imagine someone else in place of her.
   If he was her night sky…then she was the brightest moon of his plenilune.
   "I love you too, my crazy Wild cat wifey,"in the present, Rehan mumbled within himself…a constant smile flashing on his lips as her thoughts were occupying all his senses like always.
  "Ooh, shit! The meeting!"Suddenly he remembered about the meeting which he was on the verge of forgetting once again. Thank GOD! He didn't at least. Rehan almost ran towards the lift…he needed to be quick. He could not be late to the meeting he hailed himself.

In the conference hall,
   Rehan opened the door, entering inside the vast room…almost packed with people. The investors, the people of other companies for the new project…all stood up showing due regards for the CEO of one of the leading companies.
    "Hello, everyone. I hope all of you are hale and hearty. Welcome to 'Azan Inc'. Hope you people didn't have any difficulties on your way here. Today we all are gathered here for our upcoming project…which by the grace of Almighty and all our hard work if we could launch then it would surely make quite a remarkable profit as well as name in the market. All of you are best in your own fields…and my company really looks forward to having great cooperation with all of you. Hope to have a great journey ahead of us. Let's proceed further…."
   "Sorry…I'm so sorry everyone. I got late,"the door of the conference room bursted open…along with a female voice that followed. Everyone's eyes directed towards the girl standing on the door…huffing for air. She must have run up here in order to reach in time…still got late anyways. "What the he…"Rehan stopped midway, too stunned to continue anymore. "Wild cat?"Only a whisper escaped his mouth, the listener of which was him only. Except for Rehan, Liam, Fayza and Abid *(Fayza's PA)* and few of the employees of Rehan's office who knew Azel were also shocked and confused seeing her there.
    "What kind of unprofessional behavior is this, Ms.?"Before anyone could grasp the situation, a man in his late 50's spoke up…clearly aggravated by Azel's sudden appearance. "I'm really very sorry, sir. Actually I..got stuck in the traffic,"Azel apologized genuinely, bowing her head low. She was indeed answerable towards all of them for being late…that too at the very beginning of their project.
   "Sorry? You think we all are here to waste our time and hear your sorry?"A female voice intervened in between. "Marie, what?"Zach glared at his cousin. Sometimes he really dislikes his cousin for her childish behavior. She didn't know how to differentiate between her personal and professional life. "What, what, Zach? She is the one at fault here…not me,"Marie returned back the glare. She could never understand her cousin brother as to why he would always take Azel's side instead of hers?
"Exactly, Mr. Remizera…it's clearly Ms. Edward's fault. Such kind of unprofessional behavior from someone like her is quite disappointing,"another businessman almost the same age as Rehan, sided with Marie…blaming Azel. "Sir, I…."
"Gentlemen and women, I guess making someone wait at the doorstep is quite unprofessionalism on our part as well. I agree she is late…but the way all of you are not even letting her explain her part of the story…it's also quite not an appreciative fact, is it?"though a smile was displayed on Rehan's lips…but in actuality he was not liking how they were demeaning his Wild cat. He would not disagree that she was late and it was her part of fault. But…picking on her for that like this without even giving her a chance to speak…it was not right as well, was it?
   "Exactly, I totally agree with Mr. Tyler. Moreover, the fault is actually mine…from halfway, I had sent her back to the office to get some files which apparently I had forgotten on my desk earlier. Hence, the fault is all mine…not my subordinate's,"Zach immediately jumped in to save Azel…who was continuously gesturing something to Zach. "Now if you all will please permit…"saying Zach didn't even wait for anyone's approbation rather got up from his seat strolling towards Azel. Rehan who was also walking in her direction…stopped in his way when Zach reached her before him.
    Zach took all the files from her hands, patting her head,"Sorry, Az…had to hear all these because of me,"he apologized sincerely…feeling way too bad for being the main reason she had to hear all sorts of nonsense. "Shut up, Zach. No sorry…no thank you, did you forget the rules?"She threw a cute glare his way…making him shake his head with a smile. This girl could literally make him shut his mouth with her infamous yet adorable glares. Zachary would find everything loveable in her…maybe that's how people in love feel…about their lovers.
   "Aww…such a beautiful couple they are,"one employee whispered to another looking at the non-existent couple with amusement filled eyes. "I knew that they were dating. I have seen Mr. Remizera's insta post and it was all evident in that. I also told you guys about it…but none of you believed me..now look at them,"another one added a bit more unrealistic even regarding the insta post…only to spice up their gossip even more. "Guys, did you all see how Mr. Remizera took a stand for Ms. Edward and how Ms. Edward was taking in all the insults just for Mr. Remizera!
  Gosh! They are literally the hashtag couple goals…oh my heart!"That nothing topic became a whole lot of something as a few people loved to assume things on their own. It was indeed all a baseless story…at least the way these people wanted to portray the whole scenario! And this mountain out of a molehill was indeed enough to burn…burn a heart!
   Rehan slammed his one hand on the table,"We shall proceed with the work for which we all have gathered here,"he gritted his teeth, trying his best to not let the fake smile to falter from his lips. He knew it was all rubbish. Out of everyone he knew it better that the whole gesture was nothing but a friendly one. Still he could not deny the fact that…he was jealous! Extremely jealous! Even in the rumors, Rehan could not tolerate someone else getting linked up with his Wild cat.
     Everyone nodded at Rehan's suggestion…and took their respective seats. The further discussions started. One by one all the companies started explaining their ideas for the project. Soon enough, it was the turn of 'Fashionista' to present their share of perception. Azel looked at Zach…who nodded his head at her, assuring her to carry on with her work.
     Azel walked in front of the white board…as she inserted her pen drive in the laptop, the lights of the room were turned off. Azel fixed the projector focusing its light on the monitor as in the white board. "Hello everyone, I'm Azel…the executive director and head of the fashion branch of Fashionista. Today I'm going to……"she started explaining her part of the plan.
   As she was the head of the fashion branch as well as an executive director hence not only the designs but the materials, the budget everything was her department to think of. She had a detailed plan as to how they could make a great deal of profit without losing either their names or customers. Instead by being promising enough they could gain not only the trust of people but also a good popularity. Everyone present in that room seemed quite impressed with her works and point of views. They now understood why she was given the title of 'Iconic legend' in the world of fashion.
   When almost everyone was busy praising her, there was someone lost in her. It was none other than Rehan. Till date he only saw her in her office attire…but never got the chance to watch her while she is busy working. And…when he saw her today! He just forgot to blink his eyes.
   She looked breathtaking…her seriousness and dedication towards her work seemed to increase her beauty in many folds. Gosh! How could someone look this beautiful even when she had a straight face along with a 'Don't mess with me' aura? GOD might have taken HIS sweet time while creating this girl…because she seemed no less than a piece of valuable artwork.
   Here except for Rehan…another pair of eyes seemed to be equally lost in her…looking at Azel with an admiration filled gaze. Zach always looked up to Azel for her undying zeal towards her work. She was indeed a beautiful lady…but her characteristics were more than just beautiful to be described in words. And it was the things that drew Zachary towards Azel in such a way that the poor guy fell in the love river for her.
   And there she was standing with no clue about the world, stealing the hearts of two handsome hunks who were ready to even sacrifice their lives just for her.
   Rehan slightly shook his head with an almost invisible smile that was constantly dancing on his lips…the poor guy once again attempted a futile try to concentrate on the monitor instead of his beauty standing beside it. But alas! It didn't work yet again.
    But at that time, Rehan's eyes fell in the opposite direction of where Zachary was sitting. And the next moment, his brows creased in confusion before his eyes darkened when Rehan noticed how Zachary was looking at Azel instead of the monitor…that too he had an admiring gaze covering his eyes.
     "This Zach!"Rehan muttered underneath his breath…his knuckles turned white due to excessive pressure that he used upon his fists. He needed no one to tell him that Zach was interested in Azel…that too in a he was…romantically.
    Almost at the same moment, Zach's eyes fell on Rehan as well…who was looking at Azel without blinking. Even in the complete darkness Zach didn't miss how Rehan's eyes were shining and how his lips were stretched out in a smile…looking at Azel. Rehan's eyes clearly held Love for Azel…it was quite evident not only on his face but his actions as well. "What the hell? This Tyler guy!"Zachary gnashed his teeth underneath his breath…wanting nothing but to beat the shit out of Rehan Tyler.
    Not even knowing that he was the same and only guy whom Azel loved the most.
   "I need to do something about this matter,"both the boys muttered at the same time…throwing daggers into each other's direction while displaying the weirdest fake smiles to each other occasionally as well. Their new resolutions remained unknown to the person who was the vital cause for this unseen feud of theirs!
