The sun is blazing hot on the Texan soil as I walk into the room where Zac and I are supposed to get ready for the big day. I glance at my reflection in the mirror, adjusting the collar of my shirt, I am ignoring the faint pain in my leg... a harsh reminder of the past.

"Think it's hot enough?" Zac's voice pulls me from my thoughts. He is already dressed in his new suit, looking more Hollywood than Texas, but his grin is as wide as the Rio Grande.

"I think it's just right," I reply, a smirk pulling at my lips. I remember how Meri will often tease me about my British love for cooler weather. But today, even the heat seems tolerable, maybe because I finally will get to call her my wife.

Zac laughs, a hearty sound that fills the room. "That's because you are about to marry the woman of your dreams. Even a Texan summer can't dampen that."

"Marrying the woman of my dreams in a double wedding with her equally beautiful twin and my best friend," I add, causing both of us to chuckle.

Our sons, Valo and Rasmus, are in their cribs, blissfully unaware of the momentous occasion.

As we finish up our pre-wedding preparations, Zac raises his glass, his eyes full of mirth and joy. "To the stunning twins who are daft enough to marry us, to our sons, and to this heat," he toasts, his voice carrying the depth of our shared sentiment.

I clink my glass against his, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. I gaze outside where Meri and Lumi are surely getting ready too, and I know that despite all we have been through, we are exactly where we are meant to be.

With a final swig of our drinks, Zac and I step out into the Texan sunshine, squinting against the brightness. The yard is teeming with guests, all chatting and laughing, their cheerful voices mixing with the distant strains of a country song.

"Ready?" Zac asks, a grin creeping onto his face as he adjusts his tie. I nod, taking a deep breath as we stride towards the crowd, our cowboy boots kicking up dust off the ground.

Meri and Lumi's mother, a warm smile on her face and eyes full of love, spot us first. Her face lights up as we approach, and she envelops us both in a tight hug, her voice shaky with emotion.

"You both look so handsome," she whispers, pulling away to wipe a tear from her eye. "I'm so happy both my daughters found such good men."

I am happy that she seems to have fully forgiven me for my past mistakes and now embraces me as part of the family.

As if on cue, our sons start to fuss in their carriages, their tiny faces scrunching up as they flail their little fists. Their grandmother quickly moves towards them, cooing softly, her experienced hands soothing their cries in no time.

"And these two," she adds, looking at Valo and Rasmus with pride, "are the most beautiful grandsons a woman could ask for."

Zac and I share a glance, I know that his heart, just like mine, is swelling with love for his family. As we listen to the soft cooing of our sons, the laughter of our guests, and the rustling of the wind through the trees, we know that this moment, this place, these people, are everything we have both ever wanted.

My heart beats wildly in my chest as Meri and I stand before the mirror, making the last of our preparations. Meri is fixing her veil while I adjust the floral headpiece in my hair. We are both dressed in beautiful white dresses, our cheeks flushed with excitement.

As I take a step back to admire my sister, a soft knock sounds at the door. Our father steps in, his eyes welled up with tears as he takes in our appearance. He's wearing a crisp black suit, his silver hair neatly combed back.

"My beautiful girls," he murmurs, kissing us both on the cheek. "You are the most beautiful brides I have ever seen."

His words bring tears to our eyes, and we hug him tightly, our hearts aching with love for the man who has loved and supported us unconditionally. And I am so happy he is here today to give us away.

After a moment, he pulls away and offers us each an arm. "Ready to make some good men very happy?" he asks, his voice choked with emotion. We both nod, linking our arms through his.

As we step outside, the sight that greets us takes our breath away. Rows of chairs have been set up on the green lawn, filled with our friends and family. Flowers are strewn everywhere, their sweet scent wafting in the air. At the end of the aisle, our husbands-to-be stand, their faces lit up with happiness as they see us.

I might be biased, but in my eyes Zac is the most handsome man to ever smile at his bride. But I will give my sister that Tom is quite handsome too.

With a smile, our father starts to lead us down the aisle, a daughter on each arm. The guests rise, their applause filling the air as we make our way towards the two men we love.

As we reach the end of the aisle, our father gently releases us into the hands of our respective grooms. The crowd settles, and the minister begins the ceremony, his voice steady and comforting.

"Friends and family," he begins, "we are gathered here today to witness the joining of these two couples in holy matrimony."

Meri and I exchange a glance, our hearts pounding in unison.

First, Meri and Tom exchange their vows. His voice shakes slightly as he professes his love, and Meri's eyes well up with tears. "I promise to love and cherish you for as long as I live," To  concludes, and Meri reciprocates, her voice clear and strong despite her tears.

Then it's our turn. Zac's voice is soft but firm as he makes his vows. "I promise to stand by your side, in sickness and in health, in joy and sorrow, until death do us part."

My heart swells as I repeat my vows, my voice trembling slightly. "I promise to love and cherish you, to stand by your side, for better or worse, for as long as we both shall live."

After we have finished our vows, the minister leads us in the exchange of rings. The simple bands of gold feel heavy on my hand, symbolic of the commitment we are making. But it is a good feeling.

With the final words from the minister, "you may now kiss the brides," we seal our vows with a kiss, the cheers of our friends and family echoing around us. It's a beautiful moment, filled with love and joy, and as I pull away from the kiss, I know that this is just the beginning of our happily ever after.
