I am yours FOREVER (A Zac and Tom story)

One pissed of Lumi

Finally, after what feels like eternity, we are allowed in to see Tom. He is finally out of surgery and it went as well as it could.

Lumi seems very quiet, but she might just be feeling bad about everything that happened and I know that right now it won't help telling her that it's okay.. it would probably just make it worse.

I take a deep breath before walking in, knowing that it will be scary seeing him like this. My strong, vibrant Tom, pale and still, filled with all kinds of electronics keeping an eye on him.

"Hi handsome". I go sit down beside him, taking his hand in mine. It's so cold and his face is so pale. He looks so fragile and I am fighting the tears, reminding myself that I got to keep him, that is the most important thing. "I hear you did well in surgery.. now I just need you to wake up for me.. I miss you".

Lumi sits down on the other side, looking at him with a small smile. "Yeah we need you to wake up Tom, so I can tell you how sorry I am".

"Lumi.. it's not your fault..".

"But it is Meri.. I didn't think.. I was selfish and Tom got shot because of me. I hope you both can forgive me someday". She quickly dries a tear from her eye.

I reach over the bed to take her hand. "Please Lumi, don't feel bad. I forgive you and I know Tom will do the same".

"I have been so rude with him, and still he was willing to take a bullet for me". She bites her lip. "I was just so scared he would hurt you again",

"I know". I tell her. "And so does Tom".

She sends me a warm smile, but there is still pain in her eyes and I wonder if she really feels that bad.

We just sit there, I am talking softly to Tom, letting the beep of the machines hypnotize me. Lumi seems to be in her own world, a troubled look on her face that starts to worry me.

I don't know how long we have been sitting there, waiting for Tom to wake up, when a nurse comes in. "Sorry to interrupt, but I have Mr Levi out here asking permission to come in ?"

"Sure..". I start saying, but I am instantly cut off by Lumi.

"No.. no he can't". She is shaking her head furiously. "Tell him to fuck off".

The nurse looks shocked, then she looks at me, like she expects me to explain, but I have no idea what is happening here. "Could you just give us a moment ?"

She nods and leaves, I look at Lumi, who at first ignores it, until I clear my throat. Then she kinda snaps. "I don't want to see that bastard.. just.. you shouldn't have to worry about anything but Tom right now".

"Ah ah.. I want to know, actually I think I deserve to know". I pull my chair to sit beside her, taking her hand. "So.. what did Zac do this time ? Why are we hating him ?"

"He, well supposedly, he spent his night with two call girls". She sigh, looking like he wants to throw up.

I shake my head. "Lumi.. Zac would never do that".

"Well .. there are pictures, Meri.. him shirtless seeing them, them as in not one, but two women, off from his hotel room, at shit o'clock in the night.. what does that say ?" The pain in her eyes is palpable.

"Oh". I had not expected that honestly. "Maybe you should give him a chance to explain.. I mean Zac is not that kind of man and you know that".

"I..". She starts talking but is cut off by Zac striding through the door, a resolute look on his face.

The nurse comes running after him. "Sorry he just walked in here.. should I call security ?"

I hold up my hand. "No it's okay, he can be here".

The nurse disappears, muttering something under her breath and Lumi get up from her chair. "Then I think I will leave".

"Sit your ass down Lumi". Zac's voice leaves no room for discussion. "I know we have some things to talk about.. but right now it is all about Tom and your sister needs you, so suck it up and be there for her".

Lumi's mouth snaps closed and she sits down. Honestly, her expression almost makes me giggle. "Hi Zac".

"Meri mouse". He comes over to hug me tightly. "How is he ? And how are you holding up ?"

"He is stable, there was bleeding from his liver and it was very close but they got him back and patched him up". I swallow. "The bullet was lodged in his spine, they are saying he.. that he.. might not walk again".

Zac hugs me again. "Tom is strong.. he is never going to take no for an answer".

"I know". I say softly. Then I reach up to whisper in his ear. "You need to talk to Lumi, she is hurt and scared. I know there has to be some good explanation.. just talk to her".

"Yeah, I know... and thanks for having faith in me". He gives me a weak smile.

Then I watch him walk over to Lumi and squat down in front of her. She looks away. "I am not talking to you".

"You don't have to talk, but you do have to listen to me". He says in a soft but unwavering voice, one that says that he is not taking no for an answer.

"Well.. if it can't be different". She grumbles.

He breathes in deeply. "I assume you have seen the pictures, and yes those women were.. prostitutes. They were a.. gift from the producer I was meeting with..".

"And of course, it is impolite to refuse a gift, right ?" Lumi seems angry, but I can see how her lips are quivering and her eyes are shining with unshed tears.

He closes his eyes for a second. "They were in my room when I came back, half naked and offering themself up..".

"And no man can say no to that". She snaps.

This time I cut in. "Lumi shut up and let him talk".

Zac gives me a small smile. "Did those girls spend most of the night in my room ? Yes, they did.. Did I have sex with them ?" He looks up at Lumi. "Look me in the eyes baby and tell me what you honestly think.. Did I sleep with those women ? Do you trust me ?"

"I.. ". Lumi bites her lip, closing her eyes for a moment, before looking into his eyes. "I..".
