Bad mood and big trouble

"When are you going to forgive him ?" I look at my sister as we get in the car to go into town. Tom is just inside to get my handbag, and he is of course the 'him' I am referring to, Lumi still refuses to talk to him, and it bothers me quite a lot, as I can see it hurts him.

She huffs. "Who says I am going to forgive him ? I still don't get that you forgave him that quickly".

"I love him Lumi.. with all of my heart". I smile as I see Tom walk out the house, he already looks much healthier. "And he made a mistake.. we all do. You forgave Zac his mistakes".

"That was something entirely different". She turns on the engine to Zac's truck.

I stop discussing it when the door opens and Tom slides in beside me, giving me a loving smile. "Here you go darling".

"Thanks Tom". I lean in, giving him a soft kiss, ignoring my sister glaring at us. Her mood is worse than usual because Zac is currently in LA for some meetings.

Tom gently takes my hand, lacing our fingers together in my lab and I look up at him, unable to stop myself from smiling, damn I love him so much and I am so happy he decided to come here, so we can be together.

I know I forgave him quickly, but my only other choice was rejecting him and I couldn't. Fully trusting him will probably take some time though.

He lifts my hand to his lips, kissing each knuckle slowly, making Lumi groan and step on the gas pedal. I sigh and lean my head against him, breathing in the warm, slightly citrusy scent of him.

"I love you to the moon baby". He mumbles, pressing a kiss to my temple.

For some reason it makes me all choked up, but I manage to whisper back. "I love you too.. so much".

Lumi chooses to ignore us all the way into town as I stay lodged into Tom's side and he keeps kissing my hair and temple, and whispering sweet nothing in my ear.

In town she parks next to the bank. "If you two are done with the nauseating display of affection, then we have arrived".

"Lumi stop it. I know you are missing Zac, but don't take it out on us". I say, seeing the discomfort in Tom's eyes, he truly hates that she is like that.

"I don't.. I am not incapable of being without him for a couple of days". She grumbles, getting out of the car.

I get out behind Tom and turn to look at my sister. "Oh yes you are.. it's like a vital part of you goes missing when he isn't there".

She just rolls her eyes, before turning and walking into the bank.

"Better leave it baby, but you are right, those two simply don't work when they are apart.. they might even be worse than us". Tom slips his arms around me, and pulls me in for an innocent kiss.

"I know.. I just hate that she acts like that towards you". I sigh.

He brushes the hair from my forehead. "She is just protecting you.. I just have to prove myself to her.. too".

"Over protecting". I grumble. "Come on let's get inside, before she rips the head off someone for looking at her wrongly".

Tom chuckles at the idea as we walk into the bank, trying to locate Lumi.

"Oh there you two are". Lumi says as we walk over to her.

Suddenly the doors burst open and a man strides in, I rifle in his hand. "This is a robbery, everyone keep calm and I won't hurt you".

*Tom*
Fuck, this is so not good. The guy looks half crazy and when he spots a security guard he takes the rifle and smashes the butt of it into his face, knocking him out.

Instantly I step in front of the girls, trying to shield them. We just have to keep calm and hope he gets what he wants and leaves.

Meri grabs my arm, her voice shaking slightly as she whispers. "I am scared Tom".

"Just breathe baby, stay calm.. I am sure he just wants money.. It'll be okay". I try to keep my voice calm and even.

"What a fucking idiot". Lumi hisses through gritted teeth.

I close my eyes for a second. "You know what Lumi, what about you go tell him that ?" She needs to calm down. "Please stay quiet and calm".

The man walks over to the nearest people, holding out a bag. "Put your wallets and jewellery in here.. come on.. faster".

People scramble around, scared and confused, to throw their things into the bag. Behind me Meri sniffles softly. "No.. I can't give him my rings.. they mean everything to me".

"We'll get them back baby, or I will get you new ones.. you mean more than they ever could". I whisper. Would I hate for him to take my grandmothers ring, oh definitely, but I would hate it more if Meri got hurt.

He walks over to us, holding out the bag. "Come on, wallet.. jewellery.. anything worth something".

"Just relax". I say slowly, pulling out my wallet, dumping it in his bag, then I take off my watch and put it in too.

"Come on ladies.. I can see some expensive looking rings there.. hand them over". He shakes the bag towards them.

Meri's voice is meak. "Please sir, it's my engagement ring, and it's a family heirloom".

"And probably worth a lot.. spare me your sob story and hand it over". He steps closer, looking more threatening.

Lumi grinds her teeth. "Listen here you fucking loser, what about you pack up your pathetic ass and leave.. you are not getting my rings or my sister's".

Oh shit, is all I have time to think about, before he pokes Lumi in the ribs with his rifle. "Shut up bitch and hand over the diamonds".

"Do not touch me". Lumi actually kicks the man in the stomach, making him take two steps back.

"Fucking whore". And suddenly the rifle is pointing right at Lumi.

And then everything goes very fast, I see his finger on the trigger, and without thinking I step forward, pushing the rifle away, just as he fires, making him miss Lumi. I hear Lumi let out an angry screech and then she kicks the guys ass, some real karate shit, that makes me happy she didn't have time to kick my ass.

Police stream in, grabbing the guy and putting him in handcuffs. I can't believe this all ended well.

"Tom.. Oh God, Tom !" Meri's voice sounds weird and kind of far away. "You are hurt".

Hurt ? Am I hurt ? And then it's like a searing pain hits my lower abdomen and I look down, seeing how a bloody flower is blooming on my shirt.. I blink, shit.. the bullet must have hit me.

I sink to my knees and hear Meri scream for help before I am pulled into soothing darkness.
