Trust, awaken and the explanation

*Lumi*
I look into those warm eyes, seeing love, hope and a hint of fear.. this is Zac, my Zac and he would never ever do something like that. "I.. I.. trust you.. I trust you Zac".

I smile spread on his lips. "Thank you baby". He breathes out slowly. "I swear by everything holy to me that nothing wrong happened.. and I am going to explain everything when we are alone, okay ?"

"Okay..". Honestly I still can't wait to hear what this is about, but I have to trust him, he is my mussu, my everything.

There is a groan and then Meri softly says. "There you are. I missed you".

"Where am I ?" Tom's voice is mostly a hoarse croak. "What happened ?"

"You were shot, saving me from my own stupidity". I say, hurrying over to his other side. "I am so sorry Tom...also for being such a bitch towards you".

He whimpers slightly as he tries to shrug. "It's okay Lumi, I deserved it... Well Maybe not getting shot... but...Well let's just forget it".

Zac's eyes look like they are about to pop from his head. "He...he got shot saving you ?"

"Yeah". I take Zac's hand. "I... the robber wanted to take my rings. I couldn't let him... so I acted careless, if it hadn't been for Tom... that bullet was meant for me".

"I would hug you if I wasn't sure it would just hurt you". Zac says, smiling at Tom. "But thank you.. Thank you so much. I owe you... everything. Thank you".

Tom just smiles. "It's okay, everyone would have done the same. And by the way, Lumi was the one who took out the robber. She is quite scary when she is angry".

"Oh believe me I know. I have one awesome kickass fiance". Zac chuckles, putting his arms around me from behind.

"And you better remember that Buster". I lean back against his broad chest, looking up at him.

He leans over me, managing to kiss me even if the angle is rather awkward. "Oh I will never forget...the pain is seared into my brain".

"At least your nose looks better". The blue colouring around his eyes is almost gone.

"Meri baby, could you get a doctor ?" Tom says softly, his voice still rough from having a tube down there during the operation.

She nods. "Sure Tom, is something wrong ? Are you in pain ?"

"No, I am fine...but I guess I need a doctor to sign me out so I can go home". He says smiling.

"Tom... you can't go home now". The last word gets stuck in Meri's throat. "You...need to stay here... your ... the bullet... it".

Zac is beside her in a flash, as she starts sobbing and Tom looks utterly confused. "Meri, baby, what is wrong ?"

I step up to the bed, Meri is not capable of talking right now. "Tom, I am so sorry, but the bullet ... it got lodged in your spine. The doctor said that, you might not be able to walk".

"Not...be able to walk ?" He asks slowly, like I am speaking Russian to him or something. "No.. that won't work. sorry but...I can't work with that, I need to walk".

*Zac*
"At least Tom seems optimistic". I say as we walk into the house. Meri has stayed with Tom. Lumi and I have gone home to get some sleep, now that Tom is out of any immediate danger.

She nods and pulls out a chair. "Yeah, he is very strong, if anyone can beat the odds it's him". She breathes in slowly. "So...you promised me an explanation".

"Yeah". I am so happy she decided to trust me, I mean I know it looks bad and I am going to have hell with the press and social media. "Coffee?"

"Yeah, let's have a cup of coffee while we talk". She sighs and I find the cups. "You know ... I listen and you explain what 2 girls were doing in your hotel room all night".
